Trying to see if this list seems competitive. My only issue with it is the lack of a third troop choice. Any feedback is welcome.

HQ:
Vulkan
Librarian (stock)

Troops:
Tac Squad, PW combi-melta srgt, flamer and ML -> drop-pod (will split on arrival)
Tac Squad, PW combi-flamer srgt, melta and ML -> razorback TLLC

Elites:
Assault Termies, 4 TH/SS, 1 LC -> LR, MM, xtra armor (travelling with Vulkan)
Ironclad dread, 2 heavy flamer upgrades, seismic hammer, assault launcher -> drop-pod
Sternguards (x10), 2 combi-flamer, 2 combi-meltas -> drop-pod (travelling with Libby, may or may not split on arrival)

Fast-attack:
Land-Speeder, MM, heavy flamer
Land-Speeder, MM, heavy flamer
Land-Speeder, heavy flamer, typhoon launcher

At two thousand points, I think you need another troop choice. Even with the combat squadding, you only have four small scoring units. I would take off extra upgrades elsewhere to put in a small scout squad or something like that.
Also, is it a normal land raider?
Other than that, great vulcan list

It's a normal LR. Here's the new list with a squad of sniper scouts, I had to drop the Typhoon Land-speeder.

HQ:
Vulkan
Librarian (stock)

Troops:
Tac Squad, PW combi-melta srgt, flamer and ML -> drop-pod (will split on arrival)
Tac Squad, PW combi-flamer srgt, melta and ML -> razorback TLLC
Scout squad (x5), 5 sniper rifles, 5 camo-cloaks I figure they can sit on an objectives while the Tac squads move forward.

Elites:
Assault Termies, 4 TH/SS, 1 LC -> LR, MM, xtra armor (travelling with Vulkan)
Ironclad dread, 1 heavy flamer upgrade, 1 meltagun, seismic hammer, assault launcher -> drop-pod
Sternguards (x10), 2 combi-flamer, 2 combi-meltas -> drop-pod (travelling with Libby, may or may not split on arrival)

Fast-attack:
Land-Speeder, MM, heavy flamer
Land-Speeder, MM, heavy flamer

I'm playing a game with my buddy who's bringing his 2k Necron tourny list.

I figured I'd let him go first (he has stormlord anyway) while deploying only my LR to attract the scarabs and his tomb-stalker and get them away from his board edge where he will most likely deploy his stormlord/kripteks in a ruin. The idea being to pod the sternguards and Ironclad on top of his lord and use the heavy flamer, meltagun and hellfire rounds combined with the null-zone to try and take out the stormlord on turn 1 (I can use the flashlight in the Ironclad and even throw in the TLLCs from the LR)... Risky but once the night rule is gone and with some decent reserve rolls, the rest of the army should handle their own...

What do you think?

Well rebuilding your army I came out to 1990. So you had 10 points spare. Using this and some other small ajustments. I would sugest this.

Drop the secound heavy flamer from the dread so he has Hflamer and meltagun. switch the drop pod troop to meltagun and a mutimelta. you should now have enough points to give the sternguard and additional meltsgun(not combi) and flamer(agin not combi). this gives you some repeatability just in case. It also makes the drop troops squad a bit nastier.

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
the band is playing somewhere and somewhere hearts are light, and somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout but there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.

If you plan on using theb tactical squad in drop pod to take out the sacarbs, then keep the flamer on them. Heavy flamers are one of the best weapons to use on necrons.
Also, if you can, I would use a land raider redeemer instead of a normal land raider.

Well...

If winning would have been based on me rolling 1s and 2s I would have obliterated my opponent by round 2...

Even twin-linked I managed to roll 1s and 2s in a row... all game... depressing...

my comments on latest list

the tac squad if their in a drop pod then give it a multi melta its going to be close to the enamy

tac squad in razor back if its going to be close range why not give it an assult cannon or twin flamers (you dont have to listen to this one at all if thats your preffrence) and the other half is staying out of the razor back right why not put them both in razor back

the snipers if they are a force then add the sargent that can make them bs 6 and make them a 10 man with a missle lancher if they are to just cap objectives then (if you want) give them a land speeder storm for a transport

the stern guard put them in a land raider (any kind) so you just have a landraider and try to add another iron clad 2 is better then 1 right that and both iron clad comes in on turn 1

land speeders are find but dont rely on them to do anything they will probably die from necron fire in turn 2 or 3 (because your too far away in turn 1)

you can ignore this or you can listen to my crazy rambalings up to you

we dunno wot you been told,

Sounds like you need more practice rolling dice if the twin-linked is still not helping you.
