Hello and welcome to the first installment of Tuesday Night Adventures! My name is Josh; I will be your host tonight. Our program today is an exciting battle report featuring Orks of the Deffskulls Clan and the Emperor's Own Crimson Fists.

The Armies:

Crimson Fists, commanded by Chris:
Librarian Epistolary
Tactical Squad in Rhino x2
Sternguard Squad in Drop Pod
Sternguard Squad on foot
Assault Terminator Squad
Vindicator x2
Land Raider Redeemer

Orks, commanded by Matt:
Big Mek with Kustom Force Field
Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun
30-man Boyz Unit x3
Tooled-up Nobz Squad
Stormboyz Squad
Burna Boyz Squad
Killa Kanz with Grotzookas, 6x
Deff Dread with Rokkits, 2x
Battlewagon (open-topped)

The Battle:

Deployment: Orks deploy first: Matt can't fit all of this Boyz on the board (a true Ork player!) so he reserves a unit of Boyz, the Kanz and the Stormboyz. The Nobz with the KFF BigMek are in the battlewagon, the SAG BigMek is perched in a ruin overlooking most of the battlefield.

Marines then counter-deploy: Vindicators have clear fire lanes. Half the Terminator squad is deepstriking and half is in the Land Raider.

Marines fail to seize initiative, battle progresses.

Not much happens - the Orks surge forward, rokkits fail to hit anything as usual.

The Drop Pod comes in directly into the path of the Greenskin horde and scatters toward them, right in between a crater, a building and a horde of Orks and Kanz. The Marines hop out behind their drop pod and blow away some Boyz with rapid-fire bolters. Vindicators let loose with ordinance and kill small amounts of Boyz thanks to 2" unit coherency. Rhinos and Land Raider move up a little.

Chris has a cunning trick up his sleeve - namely 5 Hunter-Killer Missiles he bought with his spare points. He aims all 5 at the SAG BigMek and lets loose. Matt looks nervous as all 5 hit - and then only 3 of them wound. The BigMek makes all his cover saves and Chris looks a little disappointed.

A shot of the post-1st Turn Carnage:

2nd turn rolls around and the Orks come back swinging. The Sternguard get shot and charged and wiped to a man. The Battlewagon moves up and more Boyz surge forward. Reserves fail to come in for both players.

The Librarian uses his Vortex of Doom power and smites the heck out of the Battlewagon. It explodes and a Nob inside dies. Rhinos charge forward and deploy some troops into the teeth of the Ork line. Not much else happens.

A view of the field post - 2nd turn. Ignore the Leman Russ; he's just spectating.

3rd Turn! The Big Mek gets his swagga on and trains his shokk attack gun to the 5-man Sternguard Squad lurking in the crater. Matt rolls his 2D6 for strength and we wait on bated breath.

GORK AND MORK BE PRAISED!! Double sixes and a hit on the scatter die mean bad things for marines as the Warp opens up and the Sternguard dissolve into goop, no saves of any kind allowed!!

Assaults happen, Marines die, reserves are still stuck in traffic. The Nobz mob multi-charges 2 sets of Marines and gets a lot of kills. Marines stay in combat for the next turn. Librarian insta-gibs the KFF BigMek.

Chris vows to avenge his veterans as he enters his 3rd turn. Rhinos and the Land Raider tank shock forwards into the orks, who pass their leadership tests and move out of the way. Except for the Kanz - the Land Raider crushes two of them underneath it's treads before grinding to a half in front of the last one. The Terminators disembark and flatten the last Kan. The other half of the Terminators arrive and deepstrike right next to an Ork mob.

The Stormboyz and Boyz mob come in - Stormboyz deepstrike near the Nobz combat in the backfield, and the Boyz come in by the Terminators and Land Raider.

But the SAG BigMek opts to shoot at the terminators again. Matt rolls for strength ...

Matt is truly favored by Gork!! (or maybe Mork?) The terminators dissolve into raw warp as the shokk attack gun claims more victims! The Boyz that just came onto the field are now a little confused - where are da 'eadz ta krump?

The Nobz finally crush the last of the Marines in the backfield and the remnants of the marines run away. A vindicator is wrecked by a lucky rokkit shot. The deepstriking Terminators are wiped to a man after an assault by ~20 Boyz.

The empty, untouched Rhinos now begin to tank shock anything and everything in their way. The Burna Boyz fail their leadership and are escorted off the board by one rhino, while the other one attempts to ram some Kanz. The Land Raider tank shocks through the Boyz mob and trains a flamestorm cannon on them while they're all bunched up.

The turns start to blend together. It's almost 2:00 AM. A Rhino attempts to tank shock through rubble and fails his dangerous terrain test. He's killed by a Kan. The other Rhino attempts to tank shock a Deff Dread and is immobilized. The lone surviving Vindicator is immobilized.

The game is called, on account of it being 2:00 AM and Chris only has a Land Raider, an immobilized Rhino and an immobilized Vindicator left. Game goes to Matt.

Thanks for tuning in to Tuesday Night Adventures! See you all next week!

Nice report, that Shockattack result was awesome, the randomness of that weapon can make it really fun!

As an aside - you are not permitted to combat squad a 10x terminator squad and deploy half on the board and half in reserve. You only combat squad on deployment and you are not deploying the ones kept in reserve.

Interesting - I'll have to pass that on to the players.

Thanks for reading all!

Crimson fist is running an illegal list. When you take pedro kantor sternguard 'count as' troops, they are still an elite choice this just means that they can capture objective. But if you were just having a fun game thats no problem.

The SAG was amazing I highly doubt I will ever see something like that happen although would have changed the game if either of those wasn't double six. SAG=MVP
