How effective are Vendettas with rocket pods? 2 Large Blasts that I can shoot while moving 6 inches seems pretty nifty. How do they work out in practice? 390 points for 3 of them gets you a lot of dakka, how about squadroning up with 6 or 9?
General air cav advice welcome.

Other vehicles do it better in the IG codex. I tried, when I started off, to have of each (rocket pod & triple TL-lascannons). I quickly learnt that my hull heavy flamers could do the anti infantry job fine; but the multi-lasers could not deal with tanks.]

HHF, griffons, massed lasguns, general pie plates.. .all the the same job as rocket pods.

Long story short, those triple lascannons are just gold. & very useful and effective at taking out armour at range.

For sure, the Vendetta is a precision strike, not a broom...I'd avoid squadrons though if you can, a few lucky shots from a single unit can burn them from the sky pretty easily.

I can't really comment because I've been spoiled on the Vulture Gunship, the King of Gunships, and sport four Multiple Rocket Pods on each bird, and I must say they're quite fantastic.

The Valkyrie's Multiple Rocket Pods could work, but there needs to be something else to back them up, like a Leman Russ to chew up enemy units.

And can't the Valkyrie shoot the Pods a 12" since the Rocket Pods are strength 4 and by definition, defensive?

That would be the Valkyrie, not the Vendetta (they can't take pods)

My own Valkyrie uses them along with a multi-laser. The advantage being that as they're S4 (defensive) it can move 12" (not just 6") and fire all three weapons. Great anti-infantry firepower. Also more usefull if you want to actually transport something. Vendetta is better as a gunship than a transport as you don't want to move it much.

Ah I forgot that they rocket pods are defensive. Awesome. Next time I play 'nids I'm going to outflank with one of these badboys filled with plasmavets. Objective-holding 'nids will (hopefully) be blown apart by the rocket pods and the vets will seize the objective for a glorious victory

grendel right with this one, Valkyrie is the one with nifty Multiple Rocket Pods. If you're with a Vendetta stick with those Lascannons, rather than the Hellfury missiles.

But only awesome crimes like bushranging and, if I understand the song correctly, sheep stealing and suicide.
