So i wanted to break the norm and do a SM list that has no units with armor values in it.

I decided whit scars would be nice, mainly because Kor'Sarro Khans ability to give any unit with Combat Tactics the ability to Outflank, which some what would make up for the lack of maneuverability.
So here is the list i have come up with. My aim is a competative list, so all ideas are overly welcome

HQ - Kor'Sarro Khan - 205pts. Moondrakkan
Fast - Bike Squad (4) - 150pts. Melta Gun, Sergeant with Power Fist
HQ - Librarian - 100pts. Bolter, Null Zone, Gate of Infinity
Elite - Sternguard Veteran Squad (7) - 200pts. 4 Combi-Meltas, Sergeant with Combi-Melta
Troop - Tactical Squad (10) - 190pts. Plasma Gun, Las Cannon
Troop - Tactical Squad (10) - 180pts. Plasma Gun, Missile Launcher
Troop - Tactical Squad (10) - 200pts. Melta Gun, Multi-Melta, Sergeant with Power Fist
Troop - Bike Squad (5) - 200pts. 2 Melta Guns, Attack Bike with Multi-Melta, Sergeant with Power Weapon
Troop - Bike Squad (5) - 200pts. 2 Melta Guns, Attack Bike with Multi-Melta, Sergeant with Power Weapon
Heavy Support - Devastator Squad (6) - 186pts. Las Cannon, 3 Missile Launchers
Heavy Support - Devastator Squad (6) - 186pts. Las Cannon, 3 Missile Launchers

I feel that this list is very flexible on the tactics I have at my disposal. Just to give a count, this puts 65 bodies on the table with loads of fire power.
It gives me 3 Power Weapons, 11 Melta Guns (counting the combi weapons), 2 Power Fists, 1 Force Weapon, 2 Plasma Guns, 3 Las Cannons, 7 Missile Launchers, 3 Multi-Meltas, 36 Bolters (counting combi weapons), and 15 Twin-Linked Bolters.
The general tactics i would use would be to have the Tac Squads hold the objectives or mid field while the bikes and Librarian/Sternguard launch forward or outflank to assault and lock down units, as well as take out heavy vehicles (as they have a good chance of getting to rear armor). The Devastator Squads hang back and pop fast vehicles and transports.

Any ideas would be appreciated, so please please please let me know what you think. Great day all

Where's the transports for the Sternguard and Tacticals? They aren't going anywhere with rides. It's alo not like gate is going to be reliable.

That would defeat the purpose of being AV free. But very valid point; you do have 3 footslogging objective holders which could get left in the cold. I would suggest dropping the SG and one tac for Assault squad and additional bike squad or additional man per bike squad.

Yeah, I don't think you need 3 foot slogging squads for objectives. If you're really deadset on walking troops, I would go with 1 or 2 for rear objectives and make the rest bikes.

Personally, I think all bikes is probably a better bet, but YMMV.

It also defeats the purpose of trying to get objectives when you're on foot and then holding those objectives as your squads are no vulnerable to small arms fire. You're best dropping the Tacticals and take several units of Scouts with camo cloaks, ensure that the objectives are very close to your table edge and the Scouts and stay in reserve and walk on. If they do get shot they do have camo cloaks for a 2+ cover if they go to ground. A lot more surivable than Tacticals split into Combat Squads walking across the field

right, but thats why i threw in Kor'Sarro... all my units can come in at the back, or from the sides. Doesn't this kinda cut down on the negatives of footslogging?

Possibly. It cuts down mobility to a certain degree, though if you're outflanking then the opponent will just put stuff in the middle. Kharn's special rule is only outflank, so only side edges not the long side edges.

The single Lascanons on each Dev is a waste. With your Bikes you already have a long reach with multiple Meltas for anti-tank. A 4th missile gives you that decent S8 hit and lets you drop an extra template on hordes.
SternGuard are pointless without a way to drop them into the fight by turn 1 or 2. At 200 points you can get a termie squad of any flavor and DS them into combat...gets them into the fight at a point where they are needed while keeping with the "no AV theme."
Or another Bike unit giving you 3 (or 6) slow scoring units along with 3 fast scoring units. Your still sitting at around 10-12 scoring units so thats not too bad for that mission type.
Avenger might be more useful than gate...especially if a horde shows up to play.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?
