Death-Dealing Devastator

Hey guys, just wanted to showcase a mini on behalf of a gaming buddy.
He created this before GW released their model and personally i think this looks way cooler.
You can find a couple more WIP of the conversion here
http://eyeforterror.net/tyranid-tervigon-conversion/
Hope you all enjoy and feel free to critique/praise! Will see if I can get some more finished shots of different angles from him as well...
Cheers
Snow
p.s It also reminds me of that gremlin/spider hybrid from movie "gremlins 2"...

Wow very cool design, though I am more on the retail side due to the whole spider feel. Not a fan of spiders haha

Death-Dealing Devastator

Also just got a reply from the man himself... here's how he did the conversion...
It is a carnifex torse that you reverse (so that it is upside down) combined with Arachnarok torso. and some Greenstuff skills – the hard bit is making the back carapace join flush with the Carnifex torso. Many Monstrous arms were used in the process and some hot glue for its birthing canal – not shown in the picture.
I decided to build it about 1 and 1/2 months before the current release – as there had been rumours for approximately a year… which never eventuated. I finally lost patience, made a wise crack on the many gaming forums rumour departments that the “New Tyranid Wave” would be in March.
This cruel stab at all the rumour-mongers however proved true! However, I do quite like my conversion and have been told on many occasions (including at the GW store) that it looks better than the actually model.
I have been busy building more alien terrain – I will have to post this at some point – am happy to contribute!

Looks way better than retail IMO but isn't it too big? It looks like you could use it a Scythed Hierodule (or whatever its called) from Forge World

Looks like it can still scuttle at a squad of lowly guard and make mincemeat of them, whereas the retail version looks more docile and lacking in energy!
Nice work!

Ever heard of imagination? :3
I like this model. It's well proportioned and original.
The only thing I'd like to perhaps see is some web-sacs with Guants pouring out, or perhaps some riding on its abdomen or something.
All in all, this is a sweet take on the Tervigon.
