I've recently started a Haqqislam army and am now facing a choice of who to make the Lieutenant. I bought the Bahram starter with different Hassasins, but the only decent choice for a Lieutenant there seems to be either the Muyib or the Ragik. I use the Ragik offensively, so he's not the greatest Lieutenant choice. That said, I noticed I pay some SWC for making the Muyib my Lieutenant. I'd ahve to pay even more to make one of the Daylami the Lieutenant.

I don't plan on playing a sectorial list anytime soon, I have an unpainted Hussein al-Djabel and an unpainted Saladin waiting in my box, but maybe there's a decent choice for a Haqqislam lieutenant that I have overlooked? Or should I just go ahead and paint that Saladin?

I plan on playing 150-200 point games.

My buddy almost always uses a Ghulam. If you have a couple of them you can't tell who is the Lt. Since you are playing a mostly religious army the lost of Lt. won't even hurt much. Even though I know he's using a Ghulam he usually has at least three with a rifle so I can't tell which one he is.

You wouldn't be able to do the the Daylami anyway because he's Irregular. Irregular Lt. can only be with other Irregular troops in his group. not the whole army but everyone in his combat group. So possible but unlikely.

Other good options are the Hafza and Djanbazan. A Chain of Command Farzan is also nice to take over if the Lt. dies.

Saladin, Saladin, Saladin.

He is a very obvious "this is my Lt", however he is more resilient then he looks and Strat Lvl3 is FANTASTIC.

I don't have any Ghulam yet, but I'm planning to get some Qapu Khalqi soonish - I was actually thinking about Djanbazan because I'd be able to link them, they got a couple different models, they serve under Military Intelligence so are similar to the Hassasins in their role and they have a hacker and an HMG in their stock models.

I want my second army to be different from my first one - I have no hackers yet in my Hassasin group.

I guess I'll get around to painting Saladin and then decide what to buy next

I'll be considering the Hafza as well - I just don't really find their models that attractive I guess.

I didn't know about the Daylami thing - seems like me and my friends were playing it wrong.
