Lightning field fires when the Crypteks unit is attacked.......if the unit takes an Ark as a DT, then does the Lightning Field fire at units attacking the Ark in CC as well?

maybe pushing it a little.......

No. Not even close. A vehicle, DT or not, is NOT the same unit as a model embarked in it.

Not only does the rulebook cover this adequately, numerous BRB FAQs do, and also any form of logic.

If you disagree, please show how you have embarked the GA into itself, as required under the rules for units embarking vehicles.

on the other hand Nobz they decided it was in the best interest of ork society that they "Go Green" as such they specifically modified their warbikes to not make giant smoke, dust, grit, clouds. Instead they are all about driving with clean air, one might say their bikes Gak out rainbows.

Yes because we don't have enough 10-page arguments. In all seriousness, though. Not for reasons already listed.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

A few more shots. ;-)

If it was the same unit you'd also have to follow the "move at the speed of the slowest model" rule so the DT would be limited to a 6" move. And ofc, if it got Immobilized your necrons could no longer move at all.

I invision in my head ... a group of people beating up a Zoombie and then at last a couple of shots to the head to make sure its down and "dead" lmao.. love the walking dead shows. well it was a decent question though. Poor Poor ghost ark.. gets no help at all..lol.. what sucks about the ghost ark is the "open top" we will never see a crew shaken out of it.. it will always be crew stunned or higher .. but at the same time.. the open top helps us cron players as well.. so take the good with the bad right? .. i had a ghost ark last 5 rounds before.. i thought that was impressive. normaly its dead at round 2 or 3 at the most.

Exactly so - necrons are incredibly tough so you should always provide the opponent with plenty targets. I won a close objective game vs a mate's necrons with my SoB a while back because he didn't have luck with reserves. I only killed two necron units and lost five of my own but it was the important kills vs losing my elite/fast units. He couldn't afford shooting my scoring units as long as his were under attack... Line up more targets and the opponent will have to make that tough choice instead.

I apologize in advance for the potential fire this may begin:

Isn't there a precedent that says a dedicated transport, such as for IG, is considered part of the platoon for Dawn of War deployment purposes? If so, then that DT must be considered part of the unit.

The IG Platoon deployment is a special rule for the IG Platoon. Everyone else deploys as described in the BRB.

And ofc, even the IG Platoon rule concerns only deployment - nothing requires the individual components of the platoon to deploy in coherency or stay in coherency except on the individual unit level. It would make for a hell of a traffic jam!

A platoon is explicitly a set of multiple units taken as a single force org selection. Refer again to Multiple Unit Choices on page 92. The FAQ ruling for IG platoons allows a platoon to be deployed IN PLACE OF a single unit; it's explicitly not one unit in any sense.
