Subject: Can you reseve units in non-dedicated transports?

Been trying to google this but most people are talking about swapping dedicated transports to non-dedicated infantry (like putting Burnaz in a trukk).
But what I need to know is if you take a vehicle like a Vendetta, and put it in reserve with a unit like an infantry squad do they get to come on to the table together with 1 roll, or are you basically not allowed to reserve units in transport vehicles?
If not then would I at least be able to deploy them in the transport and then scout move them?

Yes, you can put anything you like in reserve.
Units can be put in non-dedicated transports. With the Vendetta you can place a unit inside and have it outflank also since the Vendetta has Scout (note: a unit with scout will not pass it onto a non-dedicated transport however).
Burnaz can't be placed in the truck though, the truck is a dedicated transport (but not for the burnaz). You can deploy them both on the table, then have the burnaz hop in first turn, but they can't be deployed together (reserve or not). Burnaz in a battlewagon is fine, deply them together (unless the BW was bought as a dedicated transport for Nobsz).
Edited for clarity.

Is the Ark available to them as a dedicated transport, or is it an independent unit? Then yes, they can start the game in it either on board or in reserves. If it was bought for another unit the lychguard would have to stay outside it until you start your first turn, then they can hop in. So no coming in from reserves in it.

Ghost arks cannot be used to transport lych guard.
Says so specifically in the Ghost Ark's entry in the codex, under 'Transport'

Yeah, Ghost Arks and Lychguard would both be significantly more awesome if the former could hold the latter.

Thanks Grendel, I was pretty sure I was Playing that right. So does the same apply to a Storm Raven with a squad of Death Company and a Death Company Dreadnought for example? All 3 units are lumped together and rolled for with one die for reserves correct?

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions
|
Correct.
Also, the FAQ for the imperial guard says that units in a non-dedicated transport are rolled for seperate from the platoon.
So if you wanted to give one inf squad scouts via Creed and have them outflank and the whole platoon would be in reserve. One roll made and then the platoon would come on your table edge and the scouted infantry squad comes in outflanking at the same time as per normal rules. But because it specifically addresses non-dedicated transports in the FAQ, anyone embarked on a vendetta is no longer part of the platoon for deployment. So even if the platoon is deployed, they would come in on the first turn on dawn of war in the vendetta, or they can outflank/deepstrike/be held in normal reserve as per normal rules.

But open-topped, so you can still drive 12", jump out, and assault. Of course you can't do it with Lychguard, though you could do it with a Royal Court.

Warscythes on lords instead of hyperphase swords. Boost in strength, and they sort of act like power weapons (no armor saves allowed) throw in phase shifter for a 3+ invuln against high ap things like SM or semipeternal weave for weakies like orks, or both to really make everyone mad. MSS times five anyone? Not to mention an overlord. And two res orbs to boot.
Ok orks, lets see, you did 56 close combat attacks...killed 5 of my guys, 1 left standing. swing twice, kill twice. ork 1 initiative. 6 of your guys hits themselves with their own PKs...4 dead. Orks lost by 1, take a wound, fail, lose another. Roll for EL, all come back except one lord....
