I'm currently looking for a new desktop computer after my old one currently refused to play Diablo 3. Can someone reconmend me a good brand? My price range is between $1400-$2500 Au. Any help would be great appreciated.

prebuilt pcs are really overpriced and diy pcs are more fun.

I'm not entirely sure about australian prices so you might want to order stuff overseas. If I assume that 1au=1$ you got a really big budget and the only question is what is that you want (aside from playing d3).

1. What monitor size are you using or intend to use (resolution is impotant)?

2. Do you want 3d?

3 Multimonitor? (eyefinity/ nvidia surround)

4. Are there any graphical candy you like (antialiasing, ambientocculsion, physx etc.)

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

The cheapest way to do it is to build it yourself. If you're too lazy or not confident you can do it try these:

iBuyPower and Cyber Power. Pick the parts you want or get one of the premade models. These guys will put together a computer for you and ship it. You can get a high quality rig cheaper than most places but more expensive than building it yourself. Call customer support before placing an order. Both sites have very good support lines.

I have to disagree with the good support from Cyberpower. I got my laptop from them, and their support was terrible. I dropped 2 grand on it, and as soon as it arrived it was making this high pitched buzzing the second it turned on. I called them, and of course they wanted me to ship it back, which I understand, but they wanted me to pay for shipping back. This is a laptop that didn't work out of the box; I'd owned it 5 minutes and am I'm unsure how it shipped like that. It turned out that there is a problem near one of the HDD screws and loosening or removing it causes the squealing to stop. I wound up keeping it.

2 years later, one of the catches snapped off (the ones that keep the lid closed). I wrote them asking if they could sell me the part and I could replace it myself as I'm a PC technician. They told me they had no parts for my laptop and it was unsupported; no alternativ e, no anything. I tried contacting MSI (the actual makers of my white box laptop) and they send me the part no problem.

In any event, my communications with Cyberpower were really good until the charge hit my credit card, and after that they were totally unhelpful. I could not recommend them.

I would recommend building your own desktop, the only tools you really need is a working PC with google and a screwdriver. Post some specs of what you're wanting and we can build shopping lists for you, unless you really want a prebuilt.
