Wyches assaulted a Battle Wagon and did not cause any damage to the vehicle. On the Ork players turn, can the battle wagon pivot, or must it move straight or not at all? If it can pivot, how will enemy models be moved? On page 68, under Tank Shock!, it says, "Not that because pivoting on the spot does not count as moving, this is not enough for a tank shock."

During the game, we decided that the battle wagon could not pivot, and it simply moved forward. We have a tournament coming up in two weeks, and this is something that could potentially happen. Any feedback at all would be appreciated!

p 63. When the vehicle pivots on the spot, you move the models out of the way and then place them back in contact with the vehicle. It is entirely unclear (to me at least) how they need to be put back into contact.

If you ended up with wyches blocking the direction the battle wagon wants to travel, I believe that the wagon would need to declare a tank shock to move in that direction.

I always play as page 63 where in the model stays the same relative to the vehicle. e.g. if a model is standing next to the door, after the vehicle rotates, he stands next to the door again.

Regardless of the nitty-gritty RAW inconsistencies, if this exact situation happens again the fact that the rules have a provision to allow vehicles to pivot when models are in base contact with them after assaulting allows you to pivot the Battlewagon and then once you move it in any direction you are then tank shocking so I think most players and judges will allow you to tank shock the enemy unit that is in base contact with the Battlewagon, while the Battlewagon is tank shocking off in its chosen direction.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
