Hi can someone clarify if its legal for Black Templars to use Whirlwind and Whirlwind Hyperios Vehicles?

In rules update 1.3 of imperial Armour volume II in witch I have linked, states I can use them.
Reason why I'm asking is its not in my codex, nor army builder and I haven't seen any other BT players use them.

Is this rule uncommon knowledge?.

Why would I want them you ask?
well it can use no cover save and shoot barrage pinning.
Pathfinders for eldars with 2+ inv is 1 of many reasons

If you use imperial armour and your opponent consents to it, you can use whirlwinds. But otherwise, I don't think you can.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The Hyperios is Imperial armour only, just as a note. It's not in the SM or any other codex.

Yah, I'm in the same boat with my BT on the rare occasions i dust them off for use.

IA books are great, but not 'official codex'. They ARE GW, but your opponent isn't required to allow you to use stuff from them, unlike with the codex, where anything in the current army codex is generally considered fair game.

BT lag behind the other SM right now, and a lot of their 'special' stuff has been hijacked by other SM books.

A nice shiny new codex (preferably written by someone competent) should fix this eventually..

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Its the sister company to GW called forgeworld.

Many things you see and hear in dakka dakka are out codex. But official useable GW stuff.

These books has a lot of great rules and units you can use, and if you see a warhammer 40k stamp beside the tank/flyer's/characters
it is allowed to be used in normal games and not just restricted to apoc games.

take a closer look at the site. and prepare to drool.

PS. they even sell Titans
