So Ive come to notice a reoccurring set of rolls that i see at least twice a game, if not more. I play between 4 and 6 melta vet squads (ten Vets in a chimera with 3 melta guns) and ill roll to hit (needing a 3+) and ill hit with 1 of the 3 shots. I will then roll a 1 to wound... It wouldnt be weird if it happened once in a blue moon but like i said, i can count on this happening at least twice a game.
I have a friend that loves to play Hammerheads with Railguns. He ALWAYS makes his to hit roll but more than Half the time he will roll a 1 to wound or pin.
Im curious what kind of strange reoccurring rolls some of you have had. Lets hear it.

More often than not, I get what I need to Wound or for Armour Penetration as the To Hit roll, followed by naff all to wound/penetrate.

For example, my Pulse Laser Hornets are great on paper and in testing off the board, but on the board, I get 5s and 6s to hit, and then 1-3 to penetrate AV12.

For my last three games, all my lascannon shots on my predator one misses, and one hits Or the both miss.

Save for one round of shooting last game that both lascannons actually hit their target.

I have a pair of combimelta Sternguard who always roll 1x when I shoot them. I can not recall the last time I hit something with them, and I use them almost every game.

The other side of the internet

It could be several factors such as dice or rolling habits. If you think it may be dice, switch to sharp edge dice. It removes a large amount of bias.

Also, anything with S8+ will never hit and/or wound. it's a fundamental law of 40k

I got 6 on a venerable dreadnought, he made me re-roll an I got another 6
Passed 11 terminator saves at once
Same terminator got 2 for leadership as he was the last one standing he needed like 4 or something crazy.

Usually you roll the dice the same way which results in the same roll. But I do agree it can be physiological.

My Captain will always 1 W per round of combat.
My sternguard rarely overheat and never die from vengeance rounds.
Predators may as well be AV14: the amount of hits they take.
One LS always dies turn 1

And not 40K related:
In BB GFI rolls fail roughly half of the time

I'm a fan of the '1 2 3' result on a multi-laser's rolls to hit. It's all confirmation bias and when I was using Guard heavily and probably rolling 20ish sets of that roll per game it's no wonder I saw it a lot but it makes me smile to see it.

I usually field 3 obliterators at the start of my games so I can get as many shots off as possible. I always start with the Lascannons as it's the best choice first/second turn. I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS miss with 1 of the 3. I have literally never hit with all 3 in one phase before. Then I ALWAYS ALWAYS......only wound with 1 of the remaining 2 and have literally never wounded with more than 1. As soon as I can switch to the plasma canon though, I start getting lots of hits. And finally, when I get into the melta range, same scenario. Hit with 2, would/pen with 1. It can be very annoying.

Outflanking

I cannot make a 3+ save. Seriously. Over the last couple games, here are some of the highlights:

Game 1:
Swarmlord and two tyrant guard take eight wounds, fail six. Swarmlord then goes down to rending.

Game 2:
Swarmlord and guard take eight wounds. Six go on the guards, two on the swarmlord. Swarmlord fails both, guards live.

Game 3:
Neither of my trygons make combat. Half the wounds were from a psyriffle dread. Swarmlord continues to suck at saves. Doom of Malen'tai is taken out by the first lascannon shot directed at it.

I will never roll a double 1 or 12 for leadership (So no perils so far) Most of the time I'm rolling a 1 and a 2.

I will also every 1 in 3 games fail horribly with Dante and my decked out Sanguinary Guard. So far I think the worst that I've done with Dante is 7 attacks, rolled 5 1s and a 2, rerolled the 2 and got a 1, then proceeded to roll a 1 for the one hit he made.

I also give my opponent strange dice rolling abilities. They will never fail a roll for my Death Masks, however, if I run up to them with a single regular squad member I can almost guarantee that I'll punch one stone dead. Even if it's a unit of FNP Terminators, I will always be able to punch one down with my bare fist.

I see that alot too. But if i roll to hit with the multi laser then bad stuff is about to happen. An example of this is two weeks ago i rolled this to hit, wounded with all three and my opponent rolled for his armor saves on his Shas'el.
And when i run 6 vendettas (3 squads of 2) ill get 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, every now and then. Thats always fun to see.
