"The Dreadclaw and its cargo always begin the game in reserve and enter play using the Deep Strike rules...After it has arrived, the Dreadclaw may move normally." (IA:A2E, p112)
Does this mean that the Dreadclaw may move on the turn it arrives? Or does "move normally" mean that it can't move on the turn it arrives because its normal move after a deep strike would be 0"?
I originally thought it was simply a clarification that the Dreadclaw doesn't become Immobile when it arrives (unlike Drop Pods), but I just wonder what the community in general thinks.

Arriving from deep strike is moving at Cruising Speed, so I would say that it's already moved that turn.
The "After it has arrived, the Dreadclaw may move normally" is a reference to subsequent turns, which differentiates it from a Drop Pod.

As above.
It arrives using deepstrike. Once it has landed it is not Immobile, so can indeed move again, acting as a flyer from memory.
Annoyingly it seems to have lost the open topped rule from IA5 and before, meaning you can no longer assault from it. Meaning chaos still have the worst drop pods....

Thought maybe it was too good to be true. Being able to move on the same turn would have made them pretty good for their points - land a safe distance away (so even an average scatter would be unlikely to cause a mishap), then move and disembark some meltachosen into the face of the enemy.
Still, I've already emailed FW to double check, though I expect the response would be the same.
Thanks fellas

Thanks fellas
Email replies from FW or GW are about as worthless as the paper you print them on, unfortunately. They are notoriously inconsistent with such replies.

Forgeworld arent so bad - its a smaller team, so you're more likely to see mistakes rectified on the site pretty quickly, once you notify them!
I dropped a line in on some of the mistakes in IA Apoc 1 and saw them make it to the final FAQ, so there is some hope!

Exactly why I bothered. They tend to be a lot more consistent in their email responses, and with their smaller team size I suspect that the email team has more direct contact with the rules development team. I wouldn't have bothered to email GW about it.

Don't forget it doesn't have any inertial guidance equivalent, so it's free to mishap on any and everything.
Dreadclaws went from being different and pretty good compared to Space Marine Drop Pods to being total rubbish in comparison.

Of course. They can re-roll the mishap result, but it's still not even close to inertial guidance.
