Ok, so son wanted to get into Warhammer but ended up getting me his dad back into painting. A little hooked so far and bought us the Black Reach set and spent many hours reading on painting techniques over past 7 weeks. So far I have paint 10x Orks Boyz and went for colours scheme mix of the Bad Moons and Evil Suns. Over the past weeks I gradually tried basic blending (base, wash, midtone and highlight), rust, weathering and battle damage techniques and still wanting to learn more.

Below is the latest trio of them for your thoughts, critic or feedback, hope you like

I like! Nice strong colour scheme.

Some of the painting is a bit 'splotchy', but it fits well with them being Orks

Is that a pool table you've photographed them on? Props if it is

Everything is looking great! I love the worn look. A good look for orks. Keep it up and post some more when you get some other models painted. I have always loved painting orks. There is so much that you can do with it.

Oh, and great basing.

Nice work man, you have good blending. I dont really see the splotchyness that J.Black mentioned. I may just have weird tastes and tend to paint in different styles.

IMO the only thing that you need is some pop. You know...something that catches the eye of fellow painters/gamers when they walk by your table.

Keep up the good work.

J.Black - Thanks for the feedback and agree still bit splotchy, trying to be less impatient and take further pride in smoothing the blending. The where photographed in a lightbox I got cheap from UK shop called Maplins for 10 UKP.

Eldar=Win - Appreciate the kind comments, the worn look take more time and get little frustrated my eye not as good so miss the inside of the black sometime. Still more Orks to paint means more time to perfect

WickedSkill916 - I know what you mean about styles, I look at far to many other painters work, some I think is amazing and some not. I guess it all becomes a question of taste, but main thing for me is see maybe one technique I like and trying it, thus learning a little new each time. I will also take not of look for something to add the the army to make it stand out, perhaps my own glyph?

battlematt - Thanks and the pupil idea for the eyes, great idea will give it a goes on the next couple (my eyesight prevailing ofc).

MrMerlin - Thanks for kids words, weathering is something I really want to get to know well so always looking for new techniques or approaches to try.

Nice looking Orks.

I weather my yellow with a combination of sponge techniques and edge highlights its pretty easy to do (if a bit messy) and comes out looking great in my opinion.

Might be worth a try.
