For some reason I thought I'd just wander down to the Oxford st store in London to find out which colours in the range are totally new and unique, i.e. not "matched" to any of the old colours. I don't want to buy the same or similar colours I already own, some in duplicate, just to try the new range.
First the staff grunted in unison that all the colours are new, which is somewhat true, since very few of them perfectly match the old paint range. I was then handed the matching chart and said I should just locate the colours that aren't on the chart.
The Covent Garden store was slightly more sympathetic, but said essentially the same thing. So, I gave up, went home and attempted to let Google solve it. Maybe I'm alone in wanting just to know which colours are completely new to the range or my Google skills need an update, but I failed to find the answer. So, here is a compiled list of the paints that supposedly don't match anything in the old Citadel paint range for those who might be curious. My apologies if this has been posted before. (Drys, Technical, Textures are all new and Glazes may match some of the old Inks, but that is for someone else to figure out)

I think I'm going to see if I can dig up the discontinued line and see if any of those have returned in the new range. Watch this space.

Ceramite White - Smelly Primer (a sort of very slight off-white with good covering properties)
Bad Moon Yellow - Honestly think Flash Gitz Yellow is closer to this than Sunburst Yellow
Yriel Yellow - Sunburst Yellow
Averland Sunset - Golden Yellow
Fiery Orange - Trollslayer Orange (very close). The old Blazing Orange is closer to Jokaero Orange.
Blazing Orange - Jokaero Orange
Terracotta - Squig Orange/Tuskgor Fur? Not sure about this one.
Tentacle Pink - Changeling Pink (Dry)
Imperial Purple - Genestealer Purple
Midnight Blue - Naggaroth Night
Lightning Bolt Blue - Etherium Blue?
Vile Green - Hellion Green
Jade Green - Sybarite Green
Scaly Green - Template Guard Blue?
Bronzed Flesh - Fire Dragon Bright?
Tanned Flesh - Deathclaw Brown

? = Not a close match, but within the same general ballpark.

This is as good as I could get working off the colour swatches from the GW website and the ones from the Dakka Dakka Paint Range Compatiibility Chart. So they could be, of course, horrendously off.

Ah, good point. I do still have some of those colours, as well.

Thanks for the vintage list!

Why did they make the pink a drybrush paint? I've never used/ seen anyone ever drybrush anything pink.

Horrors? Since they're a mid-pink, it makes sense to have a light pink to drybrush with.

It is a bit disappointing to have Tentacle Pink in a Drybrush format only, but you'd get a very close colour with Emperor's Children and White Scar mix, probably.

Gnome armies? You'd want them to have that happy pink glow....
