So, I was just thinking, and I whipped up a quick assault oriented necron list
Here is what I came up with, at 2472 pts, just picking the communal dakka brain here, I never seriously intend to field this. What do you think of it? Any potential for it at all? Tactics at the bottom

Immotehk 205
Overlord w/ scythe/ MSS/weave/shifter 175
CCB for OL 80
x2 Veilteks 120
x4 lanceteks 140
x1 chronotek 40
x7 Lychguard with shields and swords 315
x7 Lychguard with shields and swords 315

x6 warriors 78
x6 warriors 65
x5 warriors 65
x5 warriors 65

x5 wraiths (x3 whip coils) 236
x5 wraiths (x3 whip coils) 236
Scarabs x10 150

Annihilation Barge 90
Annihilation Barge 90
Annihilation Barge 90

Points 2472

Immotehk and the Chronotek go with one squad
Lanceteks all go with warrior squads for extra dakka
Scarabs munch tanks
Wraiths move up to assault
Both veilteks move into the lychguard units, and then deep strike immediately across the field, getting into assault ASAP
Annihilation barges do their thing
CCB heads up with the army under the cover of darkness and sweeps vehicles.
Warrior units just claim objectives, contributing where they can.

Thoughts?

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum.

A quick assault list with no Obyron?
I am sad.

Obyron's sad, too

(look at him. he's crushed!)

I figured Immotehk or the CCB would have better utility I suppose.

Well, it certainly looks interesting! Veiling the Lychguard sounds like fun. Have you tried it out yet? Id be very interested in the results!

Also, a question on the wraith loadout. How come you have no particle casters in there for extra wound-groups?

Havent tried them out in a game yet, but Im trying to figure out the best load out for groups of 5-6.

I'd be quite worried about that few scoring models at 2000.
