Can an imperial guard unit that has stealth and receives the incoming order take a 4+ cover save out in the open?

5+ for incoming
+1 for stealth
4+ save in the open.

2+ save in cover
+ 1 save for stealth
2+ is the best it can get though... 1+ save for guardsman would be funny

From my understanding, incoming gives a 5+ so yes stealth drops it to 4+. That is as low as it gets though...3+ in cover...

6000 points
4000 points
Empire 5500 Points

I think by the 2+ in cover he means in normal cover (4+), go to ground (adds 2, so 2+) then stealth does zip

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I guess you dont need to use incoming if your in cover you can just go to ground for a 2+ cover with stealth.

No, GtG only adds +1 to cover saves. The incoming order adds the +2.

Normal cover save is 4+. GTG makes it 3+. Stealth makes it 2+. Incoming order is useless.

Somehow, I missed the stealth portion of the statement I responded to. >.<

I guess that's why it's 'stealth'?

Just for clarifaction, the +2 to cover save from Incoming and the +1 from stealth are both irrelevent in the open, right? They only give bonuses, you can't get anything when you're not in cover.

GTG in the open gives a 6+ (I think) which can be modified.

Not true.
Going to Ground gives you a +1 to cover saves. If you are in the open you get a 6+ cover save.
Incoming improves the +1 from going to ground to +1 so you would receive a 5+ cover save in the open.
Stealth would then improve it by an additional +1 (so +5/+4)

Edit: the "not true" was directed at Testify. rigeld beat me to the punch.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Just to clarify 1 thing about the red text:

The In Coming! order in this situation is Worse than useless; you waste a Commander's order, and (as if wasting the order wasn't bad enough) the unit thusly ordered cannot shoot(as it has immediately gone to round, orders are issued before any shooting, and units can only receive 1 order per turn).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
