17th & 2nd SS Das Reich Panzer Grendier Division I was told to take a tiger but the list doesn't allow you to?
Does any one know if the PDF put out by battle front is legal ?

I did not see a Air option in the list or I would take it.

The 17th Pzg. Division is listed under the official briefings section of the flames of war website so it looks to be legal to me. Of course if you're planning on using it in a tournament you should ask the organizer if briefings are allowed. If you're looking for the 2nd SS-Panzerdivision (Das Reich), then that's in Earth & Steel. I'm relatively sure that that list is allowed to take Tigers, I'm not sure about air (probably sporadic, if at all).

I don't think you're at 1750, by my calculations, you're at:

That still leaves you with either 195 or 145 pts. to play around with if you're shooting for 1750...

At a minimum, I'd add some recon to help with dug in GTG guns, your platoons are going to have a hard enough time getting a pin for an assault, might as well do 'em a favor and have something there to lift the GTG status.

In Earth and Steel the SS-Panzergrenadierkompanie list does have an option for Tigers. They're under the Schwere SS PanzerPlatoon. The problem is that platoon goes with the 12. 'Hitlerjugend' panzerdivision not the 2. 'Das-Reich'. I'm not sure if that matters to you.

While I don't have my book handy, I am sure there is no air support option.

I looked at the SS section of Earth and Steel. No air support.

To be fair Germany was on the back foot, it's airforce was struggling for everything in 44-45 and the Allied Air force Owned the sky's, so no Air Support seems appropriate.

Air support in FoW is only an alternative type of artillery anyway. You can build lists without it. Some lists benefit from not taking it. I don't have the book to hand. What are the Recon and FlaK options?

The 2. & 12. SS lists in E&S has no option to have assault guns as combat plattons. Either Panzer IVs or Panthers I am afraid.

The online brief for the 17. SS allows the use of Das Reich support units.

There are plenty of recce and AAA options:

Recce
- SS Aufklarungs Platoon (As per the 17. SS list. An all schwimmwagen unit.)
- SS Panzerspah Patrol
- Heavy SS Panzerspah Patrol

AAA
- Armoured SS Anti-Aircraft Gun Platoon
- Heavy SS Anti-Aircraft Gun Platoon
- SS Anti-Aircraft Gun Platoon

I think some of them would serve better than the second Panzergrenadier Platoon

Im afraid I dont play FOW so I dont know what period the lists refer to, but 2nd SS had SS Stug-Abt 2 as part of its division and 17th SS only had StuGs in Normandy... Its only Panzer IVs were three command version delivered on 12th August 1944. 17th also didnt have any Panzerfaust till mid-July and even though only small quantities.

I don't know about the nonlinear 17. List but if it uses the same support as 2. Das Reich you would get schwere panzers tigers, ss panzers PIV H, ss panthers,, SS assault gun platoon, Ss tankhunter platoon, and jagdpanther.

Sorry it took so long to get back to yall. Was at the base all week no internet there. I am trying for the 17th SS

So ill get a copy of Earth and Steel and go from there. I am trying to make a list like the 17th SS more then anything. If I add anything it will be some Artie.
