I spent a good portion of my time, with a few close friends, in 2010 and 2011 building up the basis for Warband's premier historical Dark Age re-enactment module -
Vikingr. For those interested in an emphasis in
melee, in close-quarter fighting and in history, you may wish to take the time and join up for an event on Sunday the 29th. We built this mod out of fanatical devotion to all things Norse, Englisc and Norman and out of an intense hatred of Native's archer spam, melee spin-fest. What we developed, and the following team built upon after, is
the premier melee mod available for Warband*. I can only advise you all to consider attending the event for a true taste of combat during the 11thC. What is there to lose? Vikingr supports an absolutely beautiful community of linguists, historians, artists and raving madmen. Full details are kept within the following thread. ** Note, Warband saw a fresh patch released yesterday. For the moment, you'll need to stay and maintain an installation of version 1.1143 in order to play Vikingr. The mod will most certainly see an update to the latest version in the coming days.
