Subject: 2(3) Points Regarding Exalting

I've got a few queries regarding exalting:
1 - What does exalting an individual post achieve? I know exalting a thread promotes it and can help it become top-rated etc., but I'm unsure what exalting a post achieves? Or do you [Lego'] have something up your sleeve for this?
2 - Will there be an option to de-exalt something? More than once I've accidentally exalted something (usually on a touch-screen/phone), so an option to de-exalt something would be dandy. I can understand if a thread that would be exalted by accident would receive too few exalts to be worth worrying about however.
3 - Could the most (3 or so) exalted threads in that week or something - for each forum section - be featured/listed under the stickies? It's a feature I think I'd personally like to see to further promote quality content and exalting within the forums.
Cheers Lego, I don't doubt you've already thought of these and have plans etc, but I figured I'd ask.

1) Lego has something up his sleeve, methinks. Perhaps a spot on the front page or something.
2) I'm not sure what the purpose of de-exalting would be. It's anonymous, and doesn't currently matter all to much.
3) Putting them into a sticky may be a bit too awkward. I think just a small section on the front page per heading (40K, Fantasy, Specialist Games, WM/H, Etc, Etc) would do the trick nicely.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean actual sticky, but just some pseudo stickies beneath the actual stickies to show the most popular for those 7 days or something.

That might be nice, actually.

The post exalting is only used to give guidance to the homepage blog at the moment. I'll do more stuff with it once I get more data (and time) to determine the range of things I can reliably do.
Exalting by accident is not a big deal, unexalting is not needed.
Featured exalted threads is not a bad idea, but I dont think it would fit in to the design very well, and I think that it would lead to quite a bit of gaming the system and begging for exalts which we have so far avoided.

Personally, I'm not sure it would lead to begging for exalts etc. as that's fairly clearly against Forum Rules, but theoretically it may just promote quality content and exalting posts in general, but I can understand your concern too.
I'd imagine you've got it all in hand though.
