1) Let it dry.
2) put the miniature in your freezer overnight.
3) Grab a hobby knife and chip off the glue.
4) Profit.

As an FYI, you probably won't get all the glue off the detail, but it will be better than nothing.

If the backpack is just a standard backpack, I would advise just going with another one. The effort is going to be pretty extreme to save a plastic backpack.

I agree with petre.

Acetone will dissolve super glue but it will also dissolve plastic.

Simple Green or wal mart super clean will dissolve super glue without damaging the plastic.

Buuut... It will cost more to buy a bottle of either than to buy a new backpack.. Or several.

Ok thanks guys it is a space marine apothecary, all metal miniature.
After a bit of searching on google i have left the backpack soaking in acetone, the super glue is just peeling off will need a needle to get it out of the details, but thankfully disaster averted.

If the part is metal pure acetone or nail polish remover mill turn the glue rubbery making it very easy to peel off.

Use fingernail polish remover instead of plain acitone. You'll be fine.

There are two types of nail polish remover. One type contains acetone. The other type is acetone free.

Nail polish remover works great for removing dryed super glue. Just set the figure in a ceramic bowl filled with the nail polish remover. Let it set for bout 15 min. Then use twezzers and take it out and set it on a paper towl. Use a hobby knife to then peel away the jellified glue. It doesn't effect the modle and works well.

Acetone is the kind I use.

Its probably not a good idea to use even super glue without a solvent like acetone around.
Sound stupid but accidents do happen - what if you had glued this to your hand or your fingernail?
That's easier to do than you might imagine.

As much as this sounds nice, I don't think I have ever had acetone around in all the time I have worked with super glue and minis (15 years or so).

Even when I have glued things to myself or spilled a whole bottle on my hand, it is just superglue.

The thing you should avoid when using superglue is improper use of accelerant. If you spill a bunch of superglue on your hand, do not use an accelerant thinking that that will make it easier to remove.

Iso-propyl (rubbing) alcohol will break down superglue and leave plastic unharmed. It will break down resin if left for over a month in solution as i learned to my cost.

Just buy some online or ebay unless you can find it locally.

Leave it in for a few days and you'll be fine.

It's also how you get paint off plastic models
