Has anyone ever allowed a Tau player to use the rules below for their Piranha (the Tetra rules)?
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/t/Tauupdate.pdf
The idea is that one of my friends is having a pretty hard time in our group using Tau. The Codex obviously needs some help, and this looks like it would be good enough to equal the playing field.
If you have not, I guess what is your opinion of it?

I have a couple in my army, and when I get the chance to pull them out they really help. Always good to get an extra marker out, they aren't too expensive, and if you position them right you can use them for decent cover for your suits or Pathfinders.
Hell, with the extra markers I even gave the SkyRay a chance... its still very suboptimal, but it makes the choice a little better.
On its own it won't help too much though, the Tetra is a better FA choice than most others, but only if you know its role in your army

I use the tetras in place of the pathfinders and doubt I will go back.
The model is tiny and fast. It's able to hide in terrain and still get shots out with the top mounted marker. Cheap upgrades and good size teams for the price. I love these things.
The downside would be that they are armor 10 open topped skimmers. That however is negated easily by their marker output, ability to hide and maintain the 12" cover save, and price/unit size.
I seriously recommend these. Though using a Piranha in it's place is odd after seeing the model. Very slim, shorter, and the marker is mounted on the top. So it's hard to imagine and accurately use it as a proxy.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

I can't wait to order a pair to a quartet of these babies. I don't like Pathfinders, and the Stealth Marker Team is neat, but so freaking expensive... these guys seem like a great happy medium - harder to kill than the Pathfinders (with a disruption pod, anyway) and more mobile, but cheaper than stealth suits and marker drones.

They are really worth it if you have a group of people that won't give you gak over using FW.
People think FW and a lot of the time they think stuff like the LC Achilles and make a big stink about it. I've had a few cases were someone walks up to a game that I had used Tetras and started to try and make trouble about it. About how OP FW is and about how using FW is cheating and not within the Codexes and so on.
So always have a second list in case someone says no (and isn't an ass about it) and make a mental note of who to avoid playing against when people start being...well asses about FW.
But the Tetras are pretty sweet. I'm using Piranhas right now while I wait a few months as FW sends it my way by one guy on a life boat.

My wife has a friend who is going to school in the UK. She has agreed to take Forgeworld stuff back on the plane with her if I have it delivered to her flat. I need to take advantage of that some time.

That is crap that people try and say the Tetra ishouldnt be allowed. I had a Grey Knight player tell me he didn't want me to use Tetras because they are OP and cheesy.
I had a feeling if Grey Knights got something like the Chaos Decimator he would run 3.
