From the GW site
The Games Day season has started and it's time for our hobbyists down under to get excited. If you're in Australia or New Zealand, make sure you head down to your nearest Hobby Centre this weekend to get your hands on tickets for Games Day Australia 2012, and check out the in-store posters containing the guest list for the day.
Australian Games Day will be on September 9th, 2012, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Australian Technology Park, Redfern, NSW. Tickets will be available from Australian and New Zealand Games Workshop Hobby Centres and, of course, on www.games-workshop.com.
The available floor space has been expanded, so this is physically an even bigger show than last year. There's a huge 'Intense Gaming area', Golden Demon, Armies on Parade, authors from Black Library, guest seminars, the crew from Forge World, and a massive store zone. There's even a banner competition. The exclusive Games Day Blood Angels Captain will be available at the venue, and is included in the price of entry. It promises to be an incredible event.
No mention of the actual price as far as I can see ?
Be interesting to see who and what is on the posters, I would suggest that if you are going then you might as well start queuing for the FW stand now.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Sounds good - I'll be there, hopefully with an Army on Parade, too. Though I guess that's up to the voters.
Anyway, we get the model. I'm guessing $75+, probably $90 for the day. More space + knowing people wants it makes GW raise prices. Anyway...
Any notice of who will be turning up?

Cost of tickets is $75, checked today.
Will be going. Whether this is free or not depends on if I win Armies on Parade for the store.

Agree completely. When it is cheaper to buy "luxury" Forgeworld and import it from the UK, then it is to buy "basic" plastic models locally...
Sorry GW OZ, you miss out.

We can still order from the US for 50%-60% off local prices. I'm assuming some people will go simply to get the model. I know I will. And maybe see if I can get into the FW booth line early.

Sure you can, If you are willing to pay the $44.00 shipping for a DeathWatch upgrade set. Or $77.00 shipping for a Razorback, a single model and an upgrade sprue.
So basically most/any of the savings you make on the ticket price gets lost in postage.
Out of interest, is the US store the only place I have seen that actually charges more for a Razorback than a Rhino? It makes sense but I though GW had a hard on for set price brackets.

For $75 + price of mini? Unbloody likely.
Or, to be as Aussie as possible.
Even the price is probably accurate...

I was just about to write a harangue about "occupy gamesday" when I realised I dont really know much about the background more than obcene prices in Aus.
Still, this whole event stinks in my oppinion, and to buy their tickets sounds really lame.

I'll probably go as well...
The build your own model thing (from hundreds of spares) was easily worth the $75 alone.
That and I desperately want the enforcer forgeworld model
