Why is it that only Chaos have developed Sonic Weaponary?

Because it is part of the Emperor's Children legion; Bile, in his search for the ultimate marine, created the noise marine. The only reason they have Noise Weaponry is because only that sort of sound can rouse the demand of sensation that they need.

Belongs in background, I think.

They haven't. Eldar make frequent use of sonic weapons as well, such as the Vibro Cannon, Sonic Lance, and in space Sonic Torpedoes.

Back in Epic there was a Mechanicus Ordinatus with a giant sonic cannon as well. So it's safe to say the Imperium has it.

It isn't to say other races haven't developed the weapons. It is more that the noise marines are just well known for using them to devastating effect.

Though I recall the specific noise weaponry that they use to also be possessed by daemons or some such. That might have changed in the fluff but I swear I remember their weapons are suppose to be instruments taken from the big symphony that corrupted so many of the EC.

When in doubt burn it, then burn yourself for doubting.

Sonic Weapons have been developed by many sides.

the Adeptus Mechanicus had a giant Mega tank/building on tracks known as an Ordantus (there were many of them) that carried a "Sonic Disruptor" that could level Ciys and entire armored companys.
I created a Leman Russ weapon system with it in mind and created the Sonic Cannon Leman Russ (Demolisher) known as "The Shatterer" (in honor of the C&C unit of the same name)

The Imperium otherwise no longer uses Sonic Weapons (that im aware of)

Chaos uses them in Noise marines of course and Deamons have them in forms that have been mentioned above.

Eldar have them (as mentioned)

its possible that Dark Eldar have them (but i have not checked, but i wouldn't put it past them)

Tau could develop them but they just havn't had the initiative to do so.

Ork...... well...... if they get a sub woofer (and a big one at that) and really belive it to work.......

Necrons don't need them but could make them on a whim with their advanced tech.
