I may be fielding mine and my buddies Necron army in a Apoc game coming up, where I've been told to expect Super Heavy Titans, Baneblades, a host of Paladins and other hardcore Imperial Goodies.

I've decided to field mass Warrior Phalanx, all with Lords with MSS, WS and Rezorb. Several Immortals (Some Tesla, alot of old fashion gauss cannons) and afew monoliths, Annhiltion barges and so on.
I was just wondering what you guys expect, esp as Imotek is leading the army and we're curious to see what he'll actually do. Infact we're fairly confident the lightning storm ability bypasses void shields, as it strikes directly above, not more than 12". But we'll cross that hurdle when we get there.

What do you Dakkaites believe will happen? I think its gonna be hilarious to have Imotek neutralise alot of the titans inital salvos and even then, if anyone goes down I most likely have a 4+ RP roll to get back up, gonna love to see their faces when they realise this applies to D strength hits aswell.

Actually, I believe lightning strikes side armor(Ive never played apoc so I'm not sure if that helps), Imotek should make your opponents rage(make you you give him a chrono tek to make sure he is effective) and I would also reccomend the traveller, him in a CCB and when its destroyed or he disembarks he can mind-in-machine titans....... And let me know how you guys play the scarabs, if the targets AV hit 0 its destroyed or loses a structure point... Good luck

I agree. Full FA slots with maxed out Scarab units. Ten watch as his infantry and light vehicles are wrecked in your first shooting phase by the lightning and the big vehicles are killed instantly when they hit 0AV.

Also, the codex says that any model that has its Armor Value reduced to 0 is wrecked. Titans? wrecked. Baneblades? Wrecked. The scarabs don't deal damage to the vehicle in the sense that missiles or Lascannons do. They literally eat the armor away, like melting flesh off bones.

Funny story. So we played Apocalypse and I brought out my Necrons. I DS'd Anrakyr into my opponent's backfield, used Subert Machine (Necron Apoc Tactic) to take control of an untouched Warhound Titan. Used its guns to shoot the nearby Reaver Titan, knocked off 2 structure points - its Void Shields had already been taken down and it had taken several structure points in damage from my Necron Pylon last turn. Subvert machine also causes 1d3 glancing hits, which I rolled and disabled both the Warhound's guns. I then used Anrakyr's Mind in the Machine to turn the Reaver Titan's guns on the Warhound Titan. Shot the hell out of it, penetrated several times. Reactor goes critical, blows up 27" of the table with a Destroyer blast that takes out almost 50 models, including a damaged enemy Baneblade. Then turned my Necron Pylon on the remaining Reaver titan that was standing and shot it 3 times, knocking off the last 2 structure points, causing it to wreck and fall apart. Took out 35-40 enemy models, 2 Titans, and a Baneblade and lost nearly nothing in return.

Yeah, Necrons are fun as hell in Apocalypse games. But do the table and favor and don't take Imotekh if it is a big game. He doesn't do that much and he slows things down in an already slow game. We tried it, and gave up.

^Drakken, I hope my apoc games go like yours, a friend of mine (IG) absolutly refuses to beleive that the necron codex says when AV = 0 its destroyed, he thinks it just take a structure point off, MWAHAHAHAH

Where people Live Free, or Die

For the sake of humanity (and the teeth in your head) please leave Imotekh at home for the Apoc game.

We had a huge debate about this and we house ruled some stuff to make it less "easy" for a scarab to wreck a Titan. There is no official rule out there beyond when AV = 0 it wrecks. But let me tell you, if you somehow manage to get your scarabs in BTB with a Titan, it is in a lot of trouble. That being said, expect a smart opponent to try to blow the hell out of those scarabs with some pie plates to stop them. And there are LOTS of pie plates flying around in Apoc games. In our game some of my scarabs got ahold of a Baneblade and did bad things to it. Wasn't a wreck, but AV 9 in one turn made sure it got wrecked the next shooting phase. I expect that something will be written by Forgeworld at some point talking about scarabs in IA 12 possibly. The rule as it stands right now is fairly "unfair" to superheavies as it just basically ignores structure points entirely.

Well, as you said, with all the templates flyng around in apoc, its the other players fault(or REALLY bad luck) that the scarabs survive to get in B2B
