Does anyne use a renegade list out of the CSM codex? I just want to see its viability and if it can still. Effective by renegade i of cousre mean no chaosy stuff (no marks, cult marine, demon weapons, etc)

Why no chaos-stuff? Some of the most famous renegades are highly chaotic, such as the Warriors of Agannor, who recruit almost exclusively from Night Lords and Word Bearers, the Sanctified, virtually defined as being Khorne-fanatics, or even the Red Corsairs, who ride a Word Bearer flagship and have drawn a number of Plaque Marines to Huron's banner. Hell, if you include Forgeworld, good ol former Storm-Lord-turned-Chaos Zhufor is virtually running (what is left) of the World Eaters these days.

I am thinking of doing a Soul-Drinker type of army.

Ok. Shoulda said that. Soul Drinkers are virtually defined by being the exception, not the rule.

The Soul Drinkers do not fit the standard template of Excommunicate Traitoris. Unlike most Renegade Space Marines, who have devoted themselves to the Chaos gods, the Soul Drinkers despise the Ruinous Powers as much if not more than they hate the Imperium that cast them out. Instead, they have developed an ideology that states that the Imperium has betrayed everything the Emperor has stood for; so they still fight the powers of chaos even though they disagree with what the Imperium now stands for. Some within the Chapter think that the Imperium should be destroyed for the good of mankind.

Hmmm, my bad. Anyways do you think a non-demonic list could be viable?

I see why not. It would tend toward a "Marine-horde" army I suppose. Cheap-as-chips Chaos Marines and Terminators giving you strength in numbers to compensate for what you lack in specialized ulility powers. Some Chosen perhaps. Vindicators and Predators work fine with CSM as they do with the Loyalist ones. It'll work, but it may lack something flavourful perhaps. Depends on tastes I suppose.
