So ive been thinking about buying a Landraider to make into Lysanders personal traport. A bit like the Marneus Calgar one in the Space Marine Codex. Any ideas on how i could make the LandRaider more resplendant, lavish, and otherwise imperial fisty?

As Nrljm mentioned, Forgeworld has LR doors, icons, and etched brass (which includes an IF icon with Lysander's name on a banner) that would all look both spiffy and Fisty. If your painting is up to snuff, some freehanded details would up the "pimpin' ride" factor, as well. Otherwise, I'd stick to basic bling - gold trim/icons instead of the standard colors, extra purity seals/scrolls, etc.

The Chapterhouse Studios Iconclast Land Raider upgrade kit[ would give you a suitably beefy and antiquated looting tank. The Forgeworld extra armour kit would also be a necessity, seeing as the chapter's all about fortifications. I would say go for the heavy armour look rather than the ornate styling of Calgar's one-ie less of a tank/chapel, more of a lead line breaker.

Another thing you could try would be adding any appropriate bits you have to make it look almost industrial, idk about you but when I look at Lysander's model, I think about how robust and mechanical his armour and weapons look.

Other than that, everything's been said.

A WD a few years ago had pics of a nice ornate Ultra LR conversion.

If you like the mechy look, it's definitely worth rummaging through the Cities of Death terrain - quite a few bits are suitable for detailing vehicles, especially with some careful razor sawing.

Hi,
I think the most important things have been said already.
I just want to support them with a picture.

For my landraider I had similar ideas. Forgeworld really adds a lot of flavour.
I used etched brass and of course the chapter specific doors.
The extra armour might not seem like much but it really adds a lot to the look. Makes it bulkier and more badass.
(Its a pain to attach it to the model though... be prepared)

Long story short.
This is a blood angels vehicle but I think you get the idea of how a good amount of bits can really make the thing stand out.

One other idea I think might work would be to add some barbed wire to the top (not real barbed wire) you can probably find some bits for it somewhere on the GW site, and it would make it look more like a mobile fortress-which would fit perfectly for the first captain of a siege-oriented chapter.

All excellent ideas. Thank you all. Especially loving the BA pic!
