Annoyed Blood Angel Devastator

I believe that the Blood Ravens who are an officially recognized chapter by GW, are the uncorrupted scions of Magnus the Red. My question is what do the denizens of Dakka chose to believe. Remember Knowledge is Power Guard it Well.

We are winged salvation, but we are a terrible, final salvation, and our wings embrace the horizon with fire. We are the Blood Angels. To confront us is to die, and death is my remit, my reality, my unbounded domain. I have known death, and defeated it, claimed it as my own. To my cost, to my strength, death is my one gift to bestow, and I am nothing if not generous. |

Most probably. If they are, then they're probably descended from the survivors of the loyalist Fourth Fellowship that returned to Prospero under Captain Menes Kalliston and Sergeant Revuel Arvida long after the Burning. The flesh-change was probably not suffered thanks to them stopping the practice of sorcery, and adopting standard Astartes restrictions (if to a lesser degree than most) regarding the recruitment and power of psychic individuals. That and the fact that people high up in the Malleus and the Mechanicus are hiding the truth from everyone in the Imperium, including the Blood Ravens.
As for Tzeentch, well, the greatest irony is that while the Blood Ravens seek knowledge and pride themselves on scholarship, but they can't even discover who they are; enough "just as planned" for him to ignore the Blood Ravens as loyalist Thousand Sons.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

They don't suffer from the Flesh Change, so I'll once again answer this question with a resounding NO.

Perhaps not, but that can also be attributed to several factors:
1) They don't practice sorcery.
2) The flesh-change doesn't occur anymore because it's purpose has been fulfilled - to force Magnus into making deals with Tzeentch and Ahriman into casting the Rubric - Tzeentch has no further need of the flesh-change.
3) Tzeentch doesn't "reward" the Blood Ravens with the flesh-change since it serves his purpose better to have them ignorant of their origins; what can be more amusing to him than to see the Seekers of Truth so ignorant of their own origins.

I believe they are thousand sons uncorrupted. Possibly, before making the change to blood ravens, the scholars/sorcerors/librarians erased all the information regarding the thousand sons and their deeds.

No, I don't think so, why?
Regarding the Blood Ravens, most likely Arvida and the other survivors made a deal with Guilliman. Guilliman even sent one of his own Champions, Tetrarch Nicodemus, to the Schadenhold to confirm the loyalty and to recruit Warsmith Dantioch - it's not outside the bounds of possibility that the same happened to the surviving members of the Fourth Fellowship, or for that matter, any loyalists from the other traitor legions scattered across the galaxy.
This would include IMO:
1) The surviving elements of the Thousand Sons fleet and the entire Fourth Fellowship that was attached to the fleet before they were ordered by Magnus to leave Prospero just before the Burning.
2) Iron Warrior garrisons scattered across the galaxy - odds are high that Warsmith Dantioch and his brothers are not the only loyalist Iron Warriors that may have survived; if they did, Guilliman is not about to throw some of the Imperium's most loyal troops - these Sons and Warriors remained loyal even if their gene-father and brothers betrayed the Emperor, and their skills, support, and loyalty (obviously they get the chance to redeem themselves by building a new Chapter under a different name) would be needed for the Lord of Ultramar's plans
regarding the future - the Codex Astartes.
After the Heresy, the renounced the title of Sorcerer (but not necessarily the knowledge - face it, all Librarians of any Chapter could be sorcerers since the knowledge of how sorcery works is necessary for them to fight it, they just don't use it), and swore an Oath of Silence to let the truth of their origins die with their generation. With no more sorcery, flesh-change does not occur, while Tzeentch cackles in amusement as the Seekers of Truth lose the very knowledge of who they are.
Magnus and the Emperor probably know this. The Emperor has no problem with it, since it's pretty much implied that the Ordo Malleus and the Mechanicus are the ones keeping everyone (including the Blood Ravens) from the truth. Magnus can't do a thing - if he did, the Imperium would destroy the last of his sons (Magnus doesn't really serve Chaos in the true sense - his own legion is more important to him than even the galaxy); if any survived, Tzeentch would claim them. So he was just watches in despair as his own sons cannot claim their name or birthright.

This would be a great theory, if the flesh change had anything at all to do with sorcery. It doesn't. The initial outbreak of the flesh-change hit the Thousand Sons before even their very first members left Terra, long before they discovered Magnus, or incorporated the magic traditions of Prospero into their Legion culture.

Fair enough...in that case I fall back to my other theory - it now serves Tzeentch's purpose to let the Blood Ravens wander freely ignorant of their origins. As I've asked before, how amusing would it be to Tzeentch to have the Seekers of Truth so ignorant of themselves?
