Can I use ghost arks as an assault vehicle? it is open topped so i am sure the rule book says i can but i am running it by you all to be certain.

Open Topped vehicles can be assaulted out, yes.

However, I wouldn't recommend assaulting with a warrior squad.

Unless its Tau.

And anyway, its better to know your options if ever the moment presents itself where this tactic may actually be useful.

Yes, you can. But, the ark can only transport warriors, HQ, and royal court, so generally you want to stay put and use the open-topped-ness to fire at full capacity from inside (no fire ports to worry about).

The only build that makes some sense in using the ark as an assault vehicle is to take a court full of lords, kit them out appropriately, then join them with independent characters on foot (e.g. Obyron). Then jump on something and kill it. But this is a very expensive way to do CC damage, and the lords are rather fragile at 1 wound each IMO. This squad is also not fearless, so if things go bad, they will get swept. That's why necron commanders usually go for other options.

Yeah I know all that but lords with hyper phase and MSS with 1 overlord is an assult termi killer I think. MSS are just so terrific. and 5 lords like that only cost 250 much less than 5 assult termies or the same idk really.
