Hey Everyone-

I am in process of building a renegade guard army revolving around corruption from Nurgle. I have an idea and my gaming group is split right down the middle (with me abstaining due to bias).

Basically, for my guardsmen I had the idea and would like to use Plague Marines as my seargents. This would both fit my theme and give a little something extra to my army.

We have 2 schools of thought with our group, which I can see and appreciate both sides of:

1) No big deal, it would be cool to see a themed army and I would be happy to play against them despite technically having proxy-ed seargents.

2) Probably shouldn't do this. You would have proxy-ed units and thus have an illegal tourney list.

So I figured I would come to my friends at Dakka to see what you guys thought??

Yay or nay?! And Why please!

I like the idea, but you need to really convert those plague marines so that they don't look like they have Power Armor and have equipment that matches LP/CCW.

Yeah, dropping stock plague marines in an i-guard army may be an issue. You may consider using some fantasy chaos to show 'humans' with nurgle influence as iguard would very much have nurgle humans but corrupted marines are a totally different thing.

Yes, that has been my biggest challenge so far, corrupting my guardsmen without losing their WYSIWYG.

Nurgle has so many fun conversions (From guardsmen doubled over and losing their lunch, to posing in positions that are "mid mutation" and screaming in terror) that it is easy to go overboard.

So far so good, but the power armor and bolters was their beef.

Wow...

Brain fart... I hadn't thought of looking to the fantasy range...
