Just a fast question as i am trying to build a 2500 list. If I give both my Wolf lord and / Battle leader 2 fenrisan wolves each (They are also riding Thunderwolves) Can they join units? or does having those 2 wolves each make them a unit?

From my understanding:
The wolves are taken as war gear and the lord and leader would be able to join units as normal (if they themselves are able to).

Q. Can an Independent Character who has taken
Fenrisian Wolves as wargear join another unit as if he
were on his own? (p31)
A. Yes – in fact you could potentially have a unit that
included several Independent Characters, all of whom
have Fenrisian Wolves, though each set of Fenrisian
Wolves must still remain within 2" of their Independent
Character master.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

This.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

As long as the unit they join is Thunderwolf Cavalry or Fenrisian Wolves.

Of course, some people argue that by joining one Lord to a TWC unit, you cannot join another Wolf Lord.

Eh, the issue of joining is only if you give the lord a Thunderwolf mount.

If they just have fenrisian wolves attached they can join whatever they want.

Yes, however, OP said they were on TWM, hence the reason I brought that up.
