Hey guys so I'm looking go to the next level in my painting and get an air compressor. I saw a few reviews on what to get but they all seem to be $100 + which is just a bit out of my budget. So far I've be buying airbrush propellant that comes in a can but they go fast and $10 a can is starting to hurt after I've purchased enough cans to get a good compressor. Anyway I found this one on ebay and I was wondering if something like this would work?

This one will work better and will be much quieter. The only drawback is no tank.

That Campbell Hausfeld one will be insanely loud.

I have this exact compressor, it has never let me down and i love it. it does have a tank, and can run for absolutely ages with the only downside being that it gets quite hot after about 30 mins, not that that affects anything. the only thing it doesn't have it a regulator, so the pressure it runs at can vary quite a lot.

Could you put a regulator on it just wondering or would you risk burning it up or does it have a bleed off??? just curious how it works Cheers

i don't know about putting a regulator on it, i haven't bothered. the pump is good enough to keep it at full pressure most of the time

I use a $40 compressor I got from a DIY store. It's loud enough to wake the dead, but otherwise works fine.

The one I linked already has a regulator and water trap on it.
