Hello everyone, I'm looking at going to Wargamescon(my first real tournament outside of ard-boyz).

And I was wondering usually speaking, do the top Three armies that win are they majority painted good and just happened to get all battle points? And same question for team tournaments.

I'm just asking because I don't foresee and trouble getting the main battle points, but I feel my painting isn't zomg good although it is probably top 10%, with no fancy techniques and such.
Actually hoping to get a small painting article started pretty soon, cause ill be running IG using Krieg!

And how was everyone's reaction to Wargamescon last year, was it well ran and prized correctly?

I attended last year and everything was ran well. I appreciated that the staff were adamant about start and end times. The only exception was the top table, which was given severe warnings after a particularly long game.

Scoring can be found at Wargamescon.com. Off the top of my head, I believe singles is 85% battle and 15% painting. Team is 50% battle, 20% painting, 15% sportsmanship, 10% presentation, 5% fluff.

I don't remember the prize distribution because I never win any at tournaments.

We have the packet on the wargamescon site that shows you a breakdown of the points and even the painting rubric.
www.wargamescon.com

Each mission is worth 30 battle points. There are 7 games.

Painting is worth 30 points, roughly 12% of the total points.

If you look at the painting rubric you get 24 points for having a painted army. Then 6 points for detail models and strong army wide paint jobs.

If you have your army painted to a three color standard, based you should get 24 points. so In short shouldn't painting won't affect you if at all. We don't want people to show up with Grey plastic primer armies.
