I'm making the jump to Reaper paints and am looking for their equivalent to the "old" Citadel Blood Red. The conversion chart on here states that Clear Red as a close equivalent but I'm surprised they did not list a color from one of the red triads. Plus the conversion chart doesn't cover all of the Reaper of Vallejo lines.

Anyone have any insight on this?

It would be massive to have a conversion chart for all of vallejo paints, as well as all the other manufactures. It takes people to buy the paint and test it out, its a rather long process.

Well, that's why I'm asking on here. Fingers are crossed that someone has the answer on the Reaper equivalent to Blood Red.

I use the Vallejo equivalent which is "red gore".

It flows much better than the GW stuff. Not sure about reaper though.

Red Gore isn't the Blood Red one. VGC Bloody Red is a 98% match. Red Gore is much darker.

That's the chart I referenced in the OP, it recommends Clear Red for the Reaper equivalent of Blood Red. I just found it odd that it recommends a Clear color over one of the Reaper red triads, so I was wondering if anyone could verify. I've seen mistakes on the chart for the Reaper line; Pure Black listed for Chaos Black and Charadon Granite.

But if no one knows, I'll take the safe bet and go with VGC even though my OCD will be out of control.

GW Blood Red = VGC Bloody Red

VGC Red Gore = GW Scab Red (Although I'm not 100% on that one)

I've had some issues with the VGC Bloody Red separating in the bottle, but this might have been because of an old formula, as I read somewhere, that nowadays this doesn't happen any more.

Cheers,

Reaper customer service got back to me and directed me to some equivalency posts on their forums. Bottom line is that their equivalent is indeed Clear Red.

Thanks for the help everyone.
