Right this is a list Im making to tackle either Mech Guard or Mech Tau in the final of my local clubs tournament!
The HQ choice is there because we have to stick to the same HQ throughout and I chose Mephiston at the start!

Got 35 points to play with here so what do you suggest?

I'd drop a BAAL for a librarian with shield/fear then put combi meltas on all 4 of your ICs in razorbacks. I also think that against most things Auto/Las preds are a better choice for blood angels since they have the speed to make them work.

See the Baals are the AV13 tankss that give me the defence I need for the razors! Also with the tables at my club being ajmmed with terrain I'll never be short of cover....
I'll drop a Baal and rework the points.... but against Mech guard the common rule is the more armour the better

I would take a libby with Shield also.

Libby with shield and stick him in a razorback? Then cast that every turn you think?

If you think you will be getting a 4+ all day anyways then I would forget it actually. 4 double melta units are nice but I'm not convinced thats worth dropping a Baal for. If you are playing in dense terrain taking dozer blades might be worth while though. I've become a fan of them recently especially because FW makes such a sweet model for them (if you can afford it). I don't think 3 priests in a mech list are needed, you can get away with 0-1. There's your points for a 3rd HS Pred.

I sort of agree with reps0l. One is probably enough unless you are using their ability to pack combi meltas. 60 points for a combi is pretty pricey though. Not quite as cheap as the 23pt wolf guard .

Don't know if you've tried autocannon predators with lascannon sponsons, they're generally a much better buy than TLLC turrets for only 20pts extra. I'd consider three of them if you've got the room.

Drop all the priests and the meltas, that give you another 245 points to spend. That enought for and las pred and a librarian. For mech lists I'm a big fan of keeping the squads iside the razorbacks as cheap as possible. A 5 man sqaud isn't that good in anythign (combat or shooting). A librarian will make up his points for the shield ability and anothe AV13 pred is always good. You could even drop 1 pred and get a Vindicator but they always work better in 2 or 3's
That still leaves you with 30 points to spend, but you've gained a 5+ cover save and another AV13 vehicle at the expense of FnP (which you might not use as you want to stay away from combat ) and some melta shots (which again you might not use if you are staying out of range and in the razorbacks)

lack of melta appalls me.

I'd drop the heavy support preds for riflemen. Far more reliable, imo.

I'd also take at least one priest. Possibly an honor guard, give them 3x melta and a rhino. I'd also try to give those assault squads a little bit of punch with a few power weapons thrown in. It can make the difference in some melees.

I'd swap out the TL Assault Cannon Razorbacks for the Lascannon/TL Plasmagun models.

Also, as was suggested already, Autocannon predators with Lascannon sponsons are really good choices. Autocannons can pop AV12, and you'll have 12 lascannon shots to pop the bigger stuff - assuming you can get LOS with both sponsons on each predator.

I agree - drop the priests; they do nothing in Razorspam lists. You'll definitely want a couple of librarians for shield - that 5+ cover save is invaluable when facing Tau and, to a lesser extent, guard.

Other than that, this is pretty much a bog standard Razorspam list - so there's not really much in the way of changes to be made. Two librarians will make all the difference, and more is always better - especially since the shield bubble is only 6". But I can't really see anywhere you can shave off that many points. Dropping one of your Razorbacks for a second librarian wouldn't be a bad change though; it still leaves you with 11 lascannon shots (and 5 TL Plasmagun shots).

My thoughts can be found in my guide, except swap the Furiosos for Mephy. Auto/Las Preds should be death to mech Tau and quite useful against Mech IG. In either case, lots of AV13 backed up by Mephy should do nicely. Neither Mech Tau nor Mech IG can handle lots of AV13 easily from long range, and if they get close for Meltaguns, Mephy makes them pay.

Overall it looks good. I'm not sure you want all your Razorbacks with AssCans...I'd probably switch at least half of them to Las/Plas.

Well i was reading online that shot for shot Twinlinked Assault Cannons have a better chance to pop a light/medium transport that Im likely to face in a meech guard list.
A lascannon that isnt twin linked only has one dice and one shot to get it with.

The range is the issue. But if you are tailoring it to your meta, it's all good. Toemato Tomato.

Well after changing the 3 preds to Auto/Las I could stay in 24" range and then assault with everything when the Vet units starts to close in. They gotta move to me anyway to use all those Meltas. Then Mephy and 30 angry marines can charge the lines to stop them using those Meltas

I like the updated list, I think what you have there will work well together
