So I just started playing Warhammer
40K less than a year ago, and haven’t fully delved into the game until recently when I discovered Vassal (shhh don't tell
GW). Vassal has helped me learn the game through experience that if not for Vassal, would have been more difficult to come by since I don't own all the units I want to run. I have been playing Orks since the start, because I love their lore and battle tactics. Started playing a kan-wall army list, but have slowly started moving to a more speed based army (since the discovery of how sweet deff rollers are). The meta I play in is dominated by space marines (mainly blood angels, space wolves, and gray-knights.....

) so please when you’re reading this list keep that in mind and any tips on how to play heavy tank and armor list that my space marine friends play would be great, so here it is:
HQs:
Warboss (
Pk, 'eavy armor): 90
Big Mek (
KFF, shoota/skorcha) 90
Troops:
19 ard boyz, ard Nob(
PK)= 236
19 boyz, Nob(
PK)=160
2 Battlewagons (for them to go in) (2 Deff rollers, 4 big shootas)=260
11 boyz, Nob(
PK)=112
11 boyz Nob(
PK)=112
2 Trukks (their rides), 2 reinforced rams = 80
7 Nobs (6-Big Choopas, 1
Pk, 1 Waagh Banner, 'eavy armor)= 245
1 Trukk (Nobz and Warboss) reinforced ram= 40
Elite:
7 burnas= 105
1 Trukk(burnas and Big Mekk), reinforced ram= 40
Fast Attack:
4 Deffkoptas, rokkits= 180 (also considering a group of 7-9 warbikers with a nob)
Heavy support:
(the two battlewagons)
Looted Wagon, Boomgun- 105
Total: 1855 (so I would have to cut 5 points, easily done somewhere)
So the idea is to have diversified threats in both heavy armored vehicles and fast moving ones, the whole time keeping the battlewagons in range of the Big Mekk, and up upfront, soaking hits. Then when I get close enough, the trukks with the burnas and big hitting nobz and warboss can move up front and assault/incinerate. Basically I like the list because it has lots of threats. The heavy, slightly slower battlewagons only have boys in them (nothing to scoff at), but they themselves are threats with the deff rollers, at the same time you have fast moving trukks that can act as assassins with the nobs and boyz, catching weaker groups of slower enemies off gaurd. Then you have the turbo boosting koptas to scout ahead, drawing more attention with their 8 twin locked rokkits, and finally the boomgun to hit open troops. I would like to test the burnas to see if they live up to their point values, same with the expensive nob group. Also I am undecided between deffkoptas or bikes. The boomgun fills the points nicely and can punish out of position units. A list with no lootas is almost sad, but I feel like they would just be so far behind and all the vehicles clog their vision. Not sold on the number of boyz, could use more. I would love feedback and all criticism. I am currently buying most of the army and Im trying to tweak it so I can save some money. Thanks!
Final Note: I am looking for a lot of these units, and can buy some in bulk
Final Final Note: Whats the best way to kill A Dreadknight (gay).
