Garryth, Blade of Retribution (*5pts)
Manticore (8pts)
Chimeria (6pts)
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
Mage Hunter Commander (2pts)
Dawn Guard Sentinels (9pts)
Mage Hunter Assassin (2pts)

I am still a little new to the game, but I am a veteran Warhammer 40k player (Mech Orks) so I am used to fast moving, fragile, have to position perfectly armies... So my friends recommended Retribution. They also don't have a Ret player in their play group so that may have also been something to do with it...

This is what I own, minus the warcaster. I have played the most games with Garryth, so I do feel the most comfortable with him. From what I have noticed... Dawn Guard hit like a truck, ignore most missed blast and are actually heavy infantry... Mage Hunter Strikeforces put the damage on Light Jacks and can nick some of the heavy jacks too... Mage Hunter Assassins are amazing or lackluster, depends on how well I roll on 3-4d6... Garryth also acts like another Mage Hunter Assassin except he gets like a gabillion attacks... I have not played with either the hydra nor the manticore, but I do understand how amazing phoenixes are (if only they made ice cream) anyway... Manticore seems good for those things I cannot shoot at, and for blocking off waves of infantry, being able to shoot three times is also nice, as is the Strength bump and Chain Attack for those annoying heavy Jacks...

Feedback would be good, So far I am playing simple games where you wipe out the enemy or their warcasters.

I have to admit, I miss the old Infantry battles of 4E compared to this 5E wonderland of APCs/IFVs everywhere. It's like we jumped from WWI to WWII.

Why 30 points? Seems an odd point value.

Just the amount for the models I have... Unless I could cut it down to 25 without losing too much effectiveness for my lack of points...
