This guy was a test piece for 31 death cult assassins. He took me about an hour and a half all told, including planning. I enjoyed painting him up a lot and look forward to seeing the rest of them done and on the table for my Ordo Malleus Inquisition army.

Any questions, comments, or feedback on how to make him and the rest of them better is appreciated

You know, I think it looks really good. Only beef I have is that I think it need a little more imperial iconography in order to define it as an imperial assassin rather than just a dark elf assassin on a round base. Just my 2 cents. It looks great though!

Yeah, I would second that. You might want to shave down the ears a bit more as well. It is a good start though!

the paint on the end of the blade looks rather thick, maybe water it down abit. and also, why the gloss vanish?

Not a drop of gloss varnish on it. That's a painted effect your seeing.

Personally, I'd look at maybe changing the blades for something less dark-elfy and less metallurgically-dubious.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I appreciate all the comments thus far and will give it some thought, though the ears stay the way they are. Much like the black skin red eyes on the salamanders homeworld it's a slight mutation and adds character I think.

I like the idea but personally would shave the ears down or sculpt a hood up around the head to hide the ears. Also, maybe swap the radical blades out for some falchions or something fore inquisitorial.

Side note: would the inquisition allow a "mutation"?
