In my work I have started working with Photoshop, and I have used my models as a training-medium.
A single 17-minute YouTube video, and a few (2-3) hours of playing around, enables a person to do this in 15 minutes;
Selective highlights, additional details, selective increased saturation, removal of mistakes and
OSL.
This has had a two-fold effect on my painting;
1. It is scary how easy it is to do effects/transitions that I would NEVER be able to do with a brush.
2. A new-found/re-kindled respect for the awesome individuals who can do this
IRL.
It has also led to various other thoughts.
While it is an awesome tool to try out colour-schemes ("I tell you what...throw some Hot Rod Red in there!"), and as a simulation/practice tool in determining
where to place
OSL, it also open up for presenting mirages and illusions that doesn't really reflect reality.
Then again we are all here to share and inspire, and not to hoard Gallery Votes, right?
Anyway, I just felt inspired to talk about this.
Thoughts and comments?
PS. Yes, I know the above is far from a flawless piece of Photoshop work. This thread isn't about how easy it is to spot
my manipulations, but rather how hard it is to spot those of a non-amateur.
