I'm entering the UBoUD and need 600 points of Marines. My HQ has to be my terminator librarian, wanted your thoughts on the rest:

HQ

Termy librarian with combi plasma, smite or quickening & vortex of doom

Troops

10 Tacticals with flamer and ML, Sergeant with melta bombs

10 Tacticals with flamer and ML

Heavy Support

2 x Predators with auto cannons only

I'm opting for 2 preds as this give my enemy more to shoot at, and I see it as a better investment than lascannons on 1 tank. I can't see myself facing much (if any) AV14 at this points level (am I right? I dunno) so the higher strength lascannons seem a waste, especially if they're the first thing to go.

The tacticals will split in to combat squads, with the ML's holding the mid field, whilst the sergeants disappear off with the flamer lads. The Librarian will go with one of these squads too.

I've chosen VoD for the obvious strength and AP reasons, though nto sure whether to take smite or quickening. I'm edging towards quickening so I can hit first in cc which is my obvious weak point.

If you're gonna use a terminator lib you may as well pay the extra 10pts for a storm shield. If you can make adjustments on the model. Especially if you're going with vortex. That would get you to 595?

Maybe I missed by a hundred points, in that case a couple of MM attack bikes might be a good idea.

The list as seen above is bang on 600 points, though having spoken to my flgs today I've been told that I can enter a 1200 point list and just not bother teaming up with anyone, which is an attractive proposition as it means I get to field everything I have, plus 200 points of shiny new stuff...
