Long story short I got my hands on a bunch of IG and VC for free but not enough to make much of an army with either separately, however I'm considering putting them together to make a 1000pt IG army and I wanted to know what you think. Things like Vampire Commissars, Spirit Host Psyker Battle Squad and so on. Don't know what I'm going to do with the bat swarms tho.

I also have a bunch of wood elf stuff I could also use.

I think it's creative idea and I'd love to see some photos.

Just add some chaso corution in the fluff and you would be fine. Or an imperial guard who has fallen to mutation after being closed off by a warp storm.

Call them a Blood Cult - an elite group of vampires leading their adoring human cultists. You'll need some extra IG bits for their weapons though.

It would certainly fit better if you were renegade guard, unless you had a really interesting story behind it considering the witch hunters would almost certainly try to exterminate them on principle... The psychic powers could be pretty interesting when Chaos is involved....

Oh, and Khorne would naturally love them! Blood for the Blood God!

Currently I'm leaning towards chaos involvement since the majority of the army will appear undead or ghostly. I started working on the army yesterday and I would seem I'll mostly be working with skeleton bits mixed with IG bits for basic troops, so I'm going to concoct I story involving a either a space battle near/in a warp storm or rift, or a story involving a lost IG army and the warp, either way its going to involve a long passage of time to represent why there bodies are so decayed.

I can vouch for the zombies kit being great for kitbashing with cadian arms/heads, not only do you end up with a whole host of unique looking infantry models and a good theme throughout, you also get a tonne of spare bitz.

I'm currently looking at using the Grave Guard bitz for my heavier infantry, they look like they could work well with cadian or renegade arms to present a junk/tribal armoured unit.

You seem to have a great theme here, look forward to pictures.

A bunch of heros, war eagles, some tree kin, and a couple other things.

I also have the coffin from the back of a VC Black Coach that I want to use for something or another.

The first to die, those whose bodies entered the storm first and left last. Stripped of their flesh, with little more than tatters of their uniforms remaining these husks of men remain animated solely due to the amount of exposure they had to the warp storm that destroyed their platoon. Ashamed of their monstrous appearance they cover there faces. Only the unit commander fully embracing his new form of existence.

Those who were not annihilated by the storm were turned into twisted versions of there previous selves...

I saw this post and just knew I needed to hop in. This is a great idea, throw in some skeles from tomb kings and such and youve got yourself an army
