Hello everyone, these are my work in progress custom sterngaurd for my space marine chapter, The Ash Dragon. See my Chapter Master for paint scheme. These Veterens are made from GW arms, shoulder pads, backpacks, and heads on a few. All other parts are from Anvil Industry, Great Stuff! The only thing i still need to do on these models is some cleanup, green-stuffing a few armpits where the arm did not meet the torso right, and I am still waiting on two backpacks from Chowderhead. Enough talk, here are the pictures.

Edit: some of the legs look out of proportion because the camera was above the marines, also I have added a comparison with gw marines.

It looks... alright.

The Steam Lord miniatures don't seem to scale well with some of the marine bitz. The Medieval heads look a bit blocky and square for marines, and some of the mags and other accessories are misaligned by quite a bit.

I like what you're going for, but I just don't think those models sync up well with GW marine bitz.

Nice! Thanks for posting these photos. Its pretty rare that I actually get to see photos of my parts combined with marines.

Thanks for posting the comparison photo as well, the legs look too short in the other photos due, as you say, to the camera angle, though there are a few proportional differences between Space marine minis and my Steam Lords Range.

I like that you've left the stocks on the rifles, I anticipated people who wanted to use them with marines would chop them off to more closely resemble the bolters "submachine gun" format, but leaving them on evidently works really well!

I think that some of the "scale" and "syncing" issues will resolve when all the bits are painted a uniform colour, and look forward to seeing how this project progresses.

Cheers!

I felt like that since the Sterngaurd are meant to be marksman, a stock would be fitting, although fitting the full stocked rifles on one or two of the GW arm variants proved to be difficult. Mainly the ones holding the rifles one handed. Thanks for your comments, and I will get some pics up during and after painting.

On a boat, Trying not to die.

I have seen these models in person (And killed a few of them with my SW's... ) and they look fine for scaling with GW miniatures.

Have you found the 2 more backpacks I need yet?

Mostly, on my phone.

Not sold on the beakie or gk heads, but digging the others. Love the bolters, although angle looks very slightly odd on the first guy? I suppose my only real niggle is that they look like they should have pre heresy packs, not standard. But regardless a cool concept.

The Sgt. and #1 have kind of a captain Morgan pose with their foot on a rock but the camera does not pick that up well, so they look weird.
