Obyron goes with the Lychguard to deep strike across the board
The veil of darkness goes with the lychguard and overlord
Crypteks go with other warriors.

I sorta feel like I should drop the scarabs for another A.barge.
Thoughts?

Well for starters Obyron isnt an overlord, so he doesnt provide a court.
Secondly you seriously lack AT capacity.

at 1000 points, I doubt I will be seeing serious armor capability, scarabs, lances, obyron's warscythe and the a barge handle armor duties

If you check the Royal Court section of the codex (pg. 90) it lists the HQs who are allowed to take Royal Courts.

"For each Overlord in your Army (including Nemesor Zahndrekh, Imotekh the Storm Lord, Trazyn the Infinite and Anrakyr the Traveller), the army can also include a Royal Court."

... he's not included in the cool boys club.

Oh, you'd think that you wouldn't see serious armor at 1000pts, but I cannot count the times I've seen people take LRs at that level. I've even seen people take two. Not at all optimized, but they do it because they know other people won't bring the weapons that can do anything about it because those people didn't expect it. Now I'm not saying you need to change your list or anything, but it might be something you want to consider.

I've seen a land raider once at 1000 pts, blood angels brought it and I popped it with a warscythe, it really didn't do much damage. However, this is true, my only options for av14 are that warscythe, or stun-locking with gauss, or using the smaller scarab unit.

From the feedback I've been getting it seems like scarabs need to be in big units, or supported by spiders... So maybe the 90pt straight swap for another a barge would benefit you? Could give you some more anti infantry if you don't expect to see much armour?

I'm inclined to agree with you. I think I might get better mileage out of another barge.

Teleporting Deathstar with the lychguard (225+115+60)= 400 points, i suppose that qualifies for deathstar at 1000 pts

Well more criticism, since you asked for it.

First of all: 5 scarabs is 75 points, not 90.
But even then you current list is more than 1000 points.
You have listed: x1 Cryptek x1 1 cryptek with VoD Does that mean that one of the crypteks is just the plain 25 pt version with a staff of light? that seems redundant, where would you put him anyway?

The problem with this list is that it has enough of nothing. You have only 1 vehicle, which will eat all the AT fire of enemies and die, because unlike CCBs it has no coversave. Your 400 pt deathstar will get massacred by a 250 pt wraith squad.
If you plan to use an overlord in melee, get mindshackles. They are the best thing since sliced bread. Especially for their points. If you have a shooty list of necrons, dont bother with the veil. The enemies will come to you. Rather take a CCB for objective contesting. Costs almost the same. And put the overlord in it.

Just one VoD cryptek, no staff of light.

It really depends on what you like to run. Efficiency wise there is no question: wraiths. And then more wraiths. The best config I have found is 3 coils and 2 pistols on 6 wraihs, giving me a total of 4 different set-ups for wound allocation. Thats a total of 250 points. You cant go wrong with that. But the rest of your army will have difficulty supporting the 1 fast moving unit with their 24 inch range shooting. So if youre bent on a shooty list, then maybe spyders? They will fill the role of counter assault almost as well and have support role for when theyre not assaulting (because of the old necrontyr saying: "Spawn more scarabs!").

Despite what the internet tells you, necrons are actually extremely good at CC. Especially at small point values. There arent many lists out there that can deal with 10 wraits, a destroyer lord and a CCB overlord at 1000 pts.

Ha, how about 2 Command Barges and 10 Wraiths!

That's 1000 points exactly, and I doubt many people will be able to deal with THAT kind of a threat!
(could even drop a couple Whip Coils to add a 2nd Solar Pulse, if necessary)

I would need to get two CCB's and 10 wraiths to do it though. But I'll need to keep this one in mind for sure.

Dude, your points are all screwed up.
5 Warriors only cost 65 point, not 78.
And 3 Harbingers of Destruction (one with Pulse) is 125.

Still, all up as it is it's only a 2 point difference (992).

I guess my only question would be... why the block of 14 Warriors?

Alternatively, if you're SERIOUS about going full shooty, you can drop the Scarabs completely, as well as the Weave from your Overlord, and make one of your 5x Warriors squads into 10x Immortals with Gauss Blasters. With the extra 10 points left over, give one of your Harbingers of Destruction Gaze of Flame and stick him with the Immortals. This will give you a solid hard-hitting unit that can sit on an objective and will be a bitch to move.

So you can blob 14 or 15 with a phaeron/resorb overlord in a non cheesy, "well-rounded" fairly shooty list.

I run something like this at 1000


Overlord-phaeron/resorb/WS/MSS

14-18 warriors
5ish warriors
5ish warriors

5 wraiths (whip coils and pblasters to fit points accordingly)
5 wraiths

3 A barges

There is some wiggle room for tinkering...just some framework.

I find it works surprisingly well. The AT is a little lacking, but only against 13-14. Rending does pretty well at strength 6 (Wraiths), and with a mobile 30 inch 14-18 possible glances from the blob, odds say you get 7-9 hits from 24 inches, should be a glance or two a round of shooting. Rapid fire should do more...Plus its a pretty mobile list as far as objective spoiling and immediate threats for opponents to deal with, and razorbacks can kiss their mothers good by...twin-linked strength 7x4 with extra hits possible gets pretty dirty...especially with those wraiths waiting and hungry...

I'd say, if you've got such a weird number of warriors anyway, and no ark, why not switch them for immortals that are threatening way more of the time and mor effective in small numbers and heartier.

(I'd suggest another Barge Overlord, get a second Solar Pulse for one of your Lance-teks, throw in 5 Wraiths (3x Coils, 1x Caster) and 6 Scarabs. That's 500 points exactly)
