SUDDENLY, TWIN-LINKED TESLA.
LOTS OF IT.

One point over is still over the limit. Just remove one of the Immortals.

Nah, I want to keep as many Tesla carbines around as I can, so I think I'll just drop the Particle Shredder (5points) from the 2nd Stalker.
(it was just there to mark multiple squads with one shot, but as there's no guarantee that my opponent will castle up like that, I guess it's not THAT necessary).

The 2500 point version is looking a LOT more effective, though!

Looks pretty effective, although I'd take the Double-Melta instead of the Heavy Gauss Cannons on the Stalkers.

Well, the Heavy Gauss Cannons were there for range (so the Lance-Teks and Heavy Destroyers can hopefully obliterate those tagged targets before they even get close), and the Particle Shredder was there for tagging multiple units with one shot via it's large blast (at which point the tesla weapons are going to go CRAZY).
Really, the Stalkers aren't in the list for their damage dealing properties, so much as the twin-linking bonus the grant the rest of the army.

I have yet to try this build (just thought of it when I saw the thread on the Tactics board), but I think I'll try it both ways to see how it plays out.

I really want to see how well that twin linking works on the troops. All that lovely dakka and the crypteks / destroyers really need that TL since 1 shot per round sucks when you miss.

Looks pretty nasty to me, write up a batrep when you get a chance to test it, I wanna see how it does!

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum.
