At tournaments in the past, I've always carried my army around on a cork board. Now that I'm actually confident with my armies paint job, I've decided it's time to dress up my display board. Things are going well so far!

Last night, I cut foam to make a hill, glued it to my cork board with foam glue (which I'm genuinely convinced is Elmer's glue... it must be some poor guy's job to sit at a desk and squeeze Elmer's glue into these labeled bottles ), and shaped the edges with foam putty. Tonight, I plan on using Floquil's diorama spray on the ground / hill. I'll be using painter's tape to cover the frame. I have yellow grass and burnt grass to flock areas of the board.

With all that said, I think the board could really use a good piece of terrain to set it off.

Can anyone recommend any good pre-painted terrain? I think I'd like to use a ruin or something.

The board needs to be functional moreso than fancy. It'll be carrying 2000 points at a time.

Gale Force Nine produces nice ruin sets in their Battlefield in a Box: Hall of Heroes series - that would fit both 40K and Fantasy, though some of their products are a bit more Gothic in the 40K sense, but if You are playing Empire they all would do fine. Otherwise,a German Company "Ziterdes" are producing great products, but they are a lot more expensive and might be difficult to get in the US.

GF9 has the best looking, most reasonably priced, and most widely available of the pre-painted ruins that I've seen. The Pegasus Gothic City Ruins kit would give you more bang for your buck (they have other suitable kits, of course, but you'd have to ruin them yourself), but it would require prep, assembly, and painting. Nothing difficult, mind you, but you seem to be looking to expend the absolute minimum effort.
