I recently been studying all the recent army builds for the orks and was just wondering what style fit a certain clan the best? some clans i cant think of one that properlly fits them or there way of doin things. So i just wanted 2 get everyones on what style (green tide, kan wall, speed freak, battlewagon rush, and etc.) fits a certain clan the best (Bad moons, Evil Sunz, Blood Axes, Deathskullz, Snakebites, Goffs) and if i missed a clan than my bad, and if you have your own build for a certain clan than post that 2 show your thoughts on it.

That's pretty cool. I have a tri-clan army I like to roll with. I have a backstory to it. It's a splinter from a big Waaagh! It has Goffs, Bad Moons, and and Deathskulls. They are basically collectors/scavengers but not quite freebootas. The Goffs collect heads as trophies, I have a bunch of mini-heads from different races mounted on their vehices or attached to their Bosspoles etc. Since Goffs are close combat oriented I have them making up my Nob Squad, stormboyz, and some Choppa Boyz squads, and my Warboss.

They go around with a group of Bad Moonz who are of course the more rich group. The Bad Moonz I have in some aspect more of a defensive role; they form part of my Loota force, Shoota Boyz, Big Mek w/ KFF, Big Mek w/ SAG, and Burna Boyz. Since Bad Moons are the ones that secure the better gear and are (only a very slightly bit) more concerned with their self preservation if only to continue their ownership of all their flashy bitz, they have a more ranged combat aspect. Hence, they are a bit less inclined towards risking themselves hand to hand. My Bad Moonz typically have more flashy bits attached to themselves and more gear.

The deathskulls follow the other two clans around pretty much scavenging what they can. I sort of use them to fill in other roles. I also have a Big Mek w/ KFF for them but he looks more improvised. They have choppa boyz which are quite standard. Also, their Lootas are not the standard models but Ork Boyz with spare gun bits glued on. I bought these models used and painted.
So they are sort of meant to be poorer and less well equipped but more eager to assume whatever roles they can to advance in hierarchy.

All 3 clans in my army have their own battlewagon, painted and decorated accordingly but all equipped the same (for competitions sake).

So that's my take on those 3 clans. Goffs make good CC units, Bad Moons make good ranged units, and Deathskulls are more sneaky and can make better scavenging guys.

For armies and clans, I think you could do Snakebites for green tide because they are traditionalists and just like fighting tooth and nail. They shun technology so I don't really imagine them in other sorts of roles.

Blood Axes you could use armies that implement Kommandos and Looted Vehicles because they are the most deceptive clan and have even traded and interacted with humans. The way they use Kommandos is frowned upon by other orks because it is not the standard way orks fight.

Evil Sunz I picture more in vehicle oriented lists so Kanwalls, speed freeks, BW rush and stuff because they have a lot of speed and red vehicles, and their clan has more Mekboyz than other clans.Evil Sunz you probably wouldn't see footslogging in a green tide.

So yeah thats my view on it. I'm working on a Kanwall army right now and I'm not sure if I want to make it an Evil Sunz, Goffs, or Bad Moons right now. I'm leaning towards Bad Moons because I already have them painted that way, and even though it may be more in tune with the lore if it was Evil Sunz, my justification is that these vehicles are expensive and the Bad Moons bought em.

Thats my two bits!

The wargear would change more than the army builds for the most part. For example every clan would have a type of battlewagon, except the evil suns would have redpaint jobs, the goffs would have deffrollas, the bad moons would more or less have killkannons, snakebites would actually use squiggoths instead, but none of that is staple.

The thing thing about any discussion concerning why orks did something usually ends with because they are orks, and noone seems to argue, or offer further questioning.

good stuff, i have been deciding wether 2 make a green tide out of my goffs or snakebites cause i know both could be it cause they both favor that but doesnt goffs like there kans and dreads as well? cause i was originail gonna make my deathskullz army a kan wall but it just doesnt fill right without looted wagons in the list.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do a Deathskulls Kanwall. Really I think the only limiting clan choice lore-wise is the Snakebite clan...just because in their lore they wouldn't want to take any new technology. Pretty much every other clan you could justify their usage of something or other.

Unless you got really creative with your conversions. Make a "KFF Mek" that looks like a spell caster type, think along the lines of a madboy. And make the kans being big ol squig beasts or some dinosaur types. That would be pretty awesome really.
