Thought I'd post this over here as well as on my Warseer plog, to catch as much critique as I can before I finish the test model off. I've been working on artscale Iron Hands, AdMech characters, and a few other bits and bobs recently, but I couldn't resist starting another side-project which has been gnawing at me since I first saw the DKoK Engineers: Imperial Navy Armsmen. The revolver-shotguns seem perfect to represent Naval Shotcannons with some modifications, exactly what a man needs when a dozen genestealers are boiling down a dank narrow metal tunnel at him full-tilt I'm working from the old Jes Goodwin concept art and a battle scene by the great John Blanche both from back in the 90's I believe, and trying to add in a little flavour of my own by drawing elements from retro space suits(the locking-cuffs at the joins between boots/gloves and the suit) and vintage diving gear(the oversized weighted boots). To start, here are the references:
And here's the WiP shots of the test model:
I look forward to hearing your views and suggestions.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Really? Cools, anyone have any pictures of these old models? I know FW have also pinched the design somewhat for the Titan crewmen.

AFAIK, GW never made Naval Armsmen, but in the RT era, they did make metals of the Titan Crewmen, which look similar. The Titan Crew were metal, but with plastic arms. I don't think any plastics were ever made of them.

The closest I could think of would be the Cadian Environment upgrades
The WW1/2 style of most Imperial Guard armies means that 'hostile environment' often just means GASMASKS!!

There's a few additional designs of environmental/pressure/space suits floating about, mostly in the FFG Rogue Trader RPG books, I was hoping to use one of them for my Master at Arms NCO, but I'm struggling to figure out how to handle the clear sections on the helmet.

I've never seen the Environmental upgrade before, those are awesome! I wonder where they can be acquired...
This is a really cool concept, looking forward to seeing more pictures.
