So the Chosen infiltrate forward to get use of their meltaguns, and their icons make a good forward deployment point for daemons to DS and charge. They have barebones champs to get the greater daemon onto the table too.

Daemon Prince just does what daemon princes do, and find something to smash.

CSM hold mid-field and can have daemons summoned onto them for objective holding.

I have 35 points remaining, looking for suggestions.

Don't think Warptime is worthwhile. Your WS7, so hitting on 3s most of the time (and hitting on 3s, your normally going to hit 3-4, not worth re-rolling all your dice) and a lot of things your wounding easily (so again, doing plenty of wounds, not worth re-rolling all the dice). I'd just take wings and MOK for that extra attack.

Its a fairly fragile list to be honest, your stating with 10 Marines, 1 Daemon Prince and two rhinos on the bored. With 1/3 of your army coming in from reserve. If you don't get enough down turn 2/3, you'll be in serious trouble. I'm not really sure what to suggest for your remaining 35 points. Personal Icon on both CSM squads, or IoCG. And if you have enough points left, an extra lesser daemon or two.

Oops, forgot to add in, the CSM squads (which are 10 man, not 5) have IoCG already.

Good list. I'd run a Lash Prince to give you more mob control (lash groups into flamer/assault range).

The absence of long-range firepower worries me, but it certainly fits Word Bearers fluff.

The 10 man units are in rhinos though. The 10 Chosen, who are potentially going to be nearer first turn are going to be high priority. If your opponent really knows your list/codex well, they'll know the Chosen are going to bring down the Lesser Daemons, and offer a cheaper champ for the Greater Daemon. If your playing against DE, GK, SW etc, armies who are very likely to have decent long-min range fire power, I just worry your Chosen will be decimated far too quickly, leaving 1/3 of your army very limited, and potentially making your Greater Daemon cost 32 points more. If your not going first, i'd say in quite a lot of match ups, your chosen will be dead turn 2.

I do like the army, in theory. I think Lesser Daemons can be pretty effective, and greater daemon is a very useful thing to have.
Try it out, see how it works. You may find your going to have to ditch the daemons if you want to win games, and go for a rhino rush style. But it depends what kind of lists your playing against anyway. You do need to change your DP. Warptime just isn't worth the (30?) points...

If he loses the roll to go first, he could always put the Chosen in Reserve and Outflank them. Works like magic for me.

Are the Chosen Squads 5 man or 10 man?

5-man.

Ok, so 4 special weapons per group so you don't waste anything on the Champion who will inevitably be sacrificed........
I wonder if I would drop 1 single Lesser Daemon so you could buy a Flamer for each Champ. 1 extra Daemon won't do much, but a 2nd Flamer in each Chosen Squad could melt some faces.
