I styled this after the recent IG D-99 army list that modified the IA8 Elysian Drop Troop Army.

What do you all think?

Farsight Enclave Army List
HQ: Farsight, Crisis Commander
Elites: Crisis Suits*, Stealth Suits
Troops: Fire Warriors, Pathfinders, Gun Drones**, Devilfish, Kroot Carnivores[0-2]
Fast Attack: Crisis Suits*, Kroot Hounds, Piranha,
Heavy Support*: Hammerhead, Broadsides, Skyray,

Farsight Enclave Special Rules:
On the Battlefront: Fire Warriors, Pathfinders, and Suits gain photon grenades and a bonding knife for free. Fire Warriors and Pathfinders also receive EMP Grenades for free.
Hardened Fighters: Fire Warriors, Pathfinders, and Suits gain +1WS and +I1 for +2pts per model.

*The number of these choices may not be greater than your number of Troops.
*Do not count as scoring unless another non-vehicle Troop or HQ is on the table.

To address a few things, my main goal is to create a fun balanced list that people would be willing to play against.

Just because Heavy support is no longer 0-1 doesn't mean there isn't a catch. For every for every heavy support choice or unit of Crisis suits, you'll need a unit of troops. Let that sink in. Default Tau can take 3 Hammerheads, and 9 Firestorms +Troops and HQ for ~1200 points. To do the same wit this list, you'll need ~1400 points. And that's without the Hardened Fighters tax.

On the fluff side, I know that some people subscribe to the belief that the Farsight Enclave are isolationist/xenophobic. I respect that opinion. That does not change the fact that they are most likely undermanned and underequipped. The Kroot have been working behind the Tau for years and I think don't think Farisght is the type to turn down much needed help when it presents itself.

So you could take three units of pathfinders, three elite suit squads, three squads of Fast Attack suits, a Commander as HQ, and three squads of broadsides? I'm ok with this.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Do you think that Farsight would have access to hazard suits?

Its not necessarily getting the suits themselves but the schematics so they could manufacture their own.

Though the Fast Attack choice is listed as Crisis suit, which I really don't mind. Would love to field extra deathrains.

Actually you'd have to take 6 Units of troops to field 3 Elite suits + 3 FA suits. You could take min size Gun Drone squads and use them to contest objectives late game with deepstriking.

As for XV9 Hazards, I'm trying to keep this as a variant of the current Tau army, just restructured, so I don't think I'll add XV9's into the list.
Farsight probably won't have them anyway. Are they just being introduced into combat in substantial numbers? Like the Air Force's F/A-22 if I remember correctly.

I would rather see Farsight retrofit old suits for new purposes. In game, this could be realized as extra/different options to certain units.

For example, the fake ghost21 rumours mentioned a sniper suit. Since it's cheaper to maintain a single suit with a gun as opposed to A drone, gun, controller, and separate stealth field, they'll just retrofit stealth suits to carry rail rifles at the cost of their usual gun and, in my opinion, their jetpack rule or their support slot.

Another example, there running low on suits/pilots, but still need heavy weapon support for their infantry. So they do what FW did and just stick the guns onto piranhas.

I don't understand the wording of the rule then. It states the number of choices must be less than or equal to the number of troops. Is that saying that If I take three troops I only get a total of three options or three per FOC slot. If it's the second way then I don't see why I need 6 troops for the 6 suit squads since I'm only using 3 units per FOC slot. I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, it's a hard restriction to put in simple terms.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And the option to lose the support system slot in place of a railrifle is questionable. Since nobody really uses the support slot as it is on the expensive stealth suit. On the other hand giving it a great weapon (which it highly deserves IMHO) and taking away the chance for it to get the TA seems like a fair turn about.
Maybe make the Stealth Suit a FA option instead of the crisis suits.

I also don't really see the point in taking standard Kroot as an elite slot. I know it's because they are supposed to be more rare for the renegade faction, but maybe give them a 0-2 unit option and keep them troop.

"these choices," means the heavy support, elite, and fast attack choices collectively. You won't be able to max out the army list with these limitations, but I play smallish point games so I don't really notice.

Your Kroot suggestion wouldn't hurt as well.

Here's my test list

Farsight[170pts]
3x Fireknife+'Vre w/ Shield Drones[282pts]
2x3 Fireknives w/ Shield Drones[453pts]
2x10 Fire Warriors[260pts]
Pathfinders[66pts]
Devilfish[85pts]
Kroot[70tps]
2x Hammerhead[360pts]
1746 Points
