So it's that time again, fallen out of the hobby for a year or so, circumstances change, decide to start a new army - daemons this time, and what better way to get myself motivated and psyched than to enter the Throne of Skulls at Warhammer World in July.

I have gone a "bit blood for the blood god" crazy and painted 40 Bloodletters (my last army was Orks, so I am a fool for batch painting and large units), and a Daemon Prince.

Played my first game with them last night, in a list that looked a bit like this:

1 x Herald of Khorne (Fury of Khorne, Unholy Might, Chaos Icon) 120pts

1 x Herlad of Khorne (Unholy Might, Chaos Icon) 110pts

17 x Bloodletters 272pts

17 x Bloodletters 272pts

1 x Daemon Prince (Mark of Khorne, Iron Hide, Unholy Might, Death Strike) 225pts

Total 999pts

I was playing a friend with Dark Angels, and due to some poor rolling I managed to take him apart pretty well - we played annihilation.

So now I want to know what to do to upgrade to 1500pts for the competition - caveats:

1) I am not afraid of painting

2) Willing to drop some cash on new models

So...anything goes - let me know what you think I need to acquire and equip to make a solid all round list!

I like the large units of Bloodletters in this list. One thing I will note is that you do not really have a lot of speed in this list.

I might make a few changes. I would move the icon from the Herald to the Troops (with 17 there you will not have to take saves on them) and it lets you grab Blessing of the Blood God on the herald.

I would also be inclined to rework the prince. He is a big target in this list and I really like the idea of some speed (so for Khorne that is Flesh Hounds) or one of my favorites - Seekers. For the cost of the prince (he has wings on him right?) you can get a unit of 13 Seekers which provide extra transport killing.

It does leave you a little vulnerable to Land Raider equivalents, but at 1000 points you can probably avoid it for most of the game.
